Prayut blows his top when asked about father's land sale

whats the big deal everyone is barking about? he declared it in his asset report! he is following the law, unbelievable some people can't read properly! Its not like that he tried to hide it and got caught, how the land was bought with which company is non of anyones business, its private matters.

In the case of Thaksin, he changed the law to benefit his own company. They did things related to the public sector that wholly benefited themselves. Thaksin falsified his asset report and put it under his driver and maids.

The PM Prayuth should show transparency in his personal wealth and business transactions but not now, doessn't the reform of the people government come first? Is that not the reason he is PM to overhaul the old system and set up with the Thai people a new government system. Let him get on with it and leave the nonsence for the soap operas.

It's ok to ask questions, anything they can find out about his great grandmother ??

Look ask him in 1 years time and see then how much he has to declare, Get on his back, and it's natural he will bite. I am pleased he will, But I do not think he is vindictive like the sand dune man, he told the south if they did not conform they would get no perks. Difference guys.

Which is great. I wonder how his father came to own this piece of land worth 600mn. I mean I know land was cheap back then, but ...

Wasn't his father in the forces too?

What about Taxin and Ying have no privacy rights ?

Sounds like tip of an iceberg for the new government.

No, one is a convicted fugitive and the other is under investigation for criminal negligence.

The general's father is neither. Your post is lacking in thought and fact.

I wonder just how many of the current administration will find themselves absconding or under investigation when and if a new elected administration takes over in 201----?

This idea that the actions of family are completely unrelated to someone in politics or business is the ENTIRE problem in Thailand.

He should declare it, then prove that all taxes are paid correctly and that all dealings were legal and correct.

Is it that hard for him to understand.

Yes it is. People at that level simply do not see why the hell they should have to account for anything, especially to the proles. I almost feel a little sorry for him - he could well be feeling genuinely quite bewildered by all this impertinence...

General Prayuth, Mr PM, Sir, please, ASAP hire some top-notch communication specialists, and give them full-power, to gag ALL of you, to have ALL of you 'put a sock in it' we said in the Army, total black-out, NOTHING comes out anymore without them having given their OK in writing first! Sir, allow me, I have worked in 'the sector', what we have heard, read, and seen since the end of May, is a total catastrophy on the communication side, whatever the good intentions might possibly have been, ALL that has come out was wrong, dead wrong, and totally adverse to your persons, but much more importantly to the values you were to promote, Sir, with all due respect, Sir.

Are you suggesting his great grandmother was very wealthy? Source?

People aren't asking in 1 year's time - they're asking now. Anything wrong with that?

A BIG "IF" for the general.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master,
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

That would be a reform committee's wet dream if their wealth obtained came from political corruption. The bigger problem would be getting the judiciary and police to see it that way. However, as I read things... No one in the current administration is currently investigation and neither is the general's father. Perhaps you should get off this topic at the next station.

Suppose I would be rich, could I avoid inheritance tax by selling my land to a company that is owned by my children?

My children wouldn't have to loose cent because the income from the sale would be directly donated to my children, and the children could use this money to give it to the company buying the land ....

That way my children would be the new land owners and they wouldn't have to buy a single Baht inheritance tax, right?

Would that be corruption?

This is fantastic news.

Slowly slowly the thai media are putting their big toe in the water and testing it and the not only Thailand get an insight into the junta and how things are done.

We have a poster on here who is now protesting every headline or photo that shows the junta in a tainted light so I can just imagine how the junta must be feeling.

The junta attitude adjustment is backfiring and their promise of transparency is just another empty piece of propaganda..

Con graduations to the journalists to have the guts to ask such questions and if the it that touchy over that one then throw a few more!

Congratulations in abundance are also due to one Ms. Atiya Achakulwisut for her article in the Bangkok Post today. I recommend a read even if I can't link to the article in question. An erudite piece, that should be required reading for certain people on here...................................coffee1.gif

Questions asked-- no problem if they are legit, But who reported that he Quote " blew his top " ??? who decided to put this into a topic this way ??

inviting anger, and TVF are wanting to conform to no harsh criticism----- then blasts this heading here. This week there have been more and more invitation to the PM haters, but yet feed them fodder for replies.

Headlines need to be scaled down and fair. so as everyone no matter what opinion can comment without inflated topic headings.

awwww it`s no fun when it`s not like it used to be, when everyone was too scared to speak out laugh.png Cheering team yellow is only fun when people don`t bite back I guess wink.png Just blame Thaksin, isn`t that the usual trick?

I think everyone can see the tide is changing, bit by bit people are speaking out against this charade. 2015 is going to be a huge year in the Kingdom

Ha Ha, I see there is no mention of the years2011-2014 ?? they were HUGE losses years weren't they ?? I will blame anyone who cannot govern as sworn to do so, so if Thaksin was in that bracket if the cap fits.

I will also blame the PM if he gets it all wrong, but will refuse to jump on the TVF slag the PM clan just for the sake of it. we call that an agenda NOT individual opinion.

If some clan members think that M/cycle taxi- beach clean up-jet ski--SOME freedom of speech--is going to bring down the PM they need their heads seeing to.....................Thai people decide and will when the time comes NOT the wind up merchants on TVF.

You are dribbling inanely again Ginjag. We are not discussing Thaksin. The PM could be caught on camera committing the most heinous crime imaginable and you'd still find a way to say "Thaksin did it". You're an endless loop.

And just for the sake of it? Read a little of the offshore analysis of this deal. There are vast unexplainable sums of money in his asset list? Any any transparent society he would be subject to intense scrutiny and a large amount of media questioning - and he aware that he would have to deal with it. I know this may be too complicated for you.

Is it that hard for him to understand.

I think the part he didn't understand was that he is supposed to have his gardener and maid hold the assets for him. I think he should answer the question, but let's not forget there is a long tradition of outright evasion for him to follow.

Ah, so that must mean it's all above board then. In your view only when the name is Shinawarta transparency is needed. Maybe you should take your own advice before you post such nonsense.

It looks like the Thai military are the richest military in the world too.

Let's stop bitching Ginjag for one minute and have a wee ponder as to how a General, and other Generals in positions of power and influence can possibly amass such fortunes through serving their country ???

Are you not in the least bit concerned or interested how these fortunes we're gained ?

Stop being such a hypocrite when finger pointing at the Shiniwatras for a moment and think rationally as to how on earth is it possible for High Ranking Thai a Officers to obtain such wealth ??

You know they say there's no smoke without fire, and he might be the PM but surely you simply cannot dismiss that these assets are indeed quite astonishing????

Gambling is illegal in Thailand, what exactly do you think you're doing when investing on the Stock Exchange ??? If the reason for these fortunes is from such a venture!!!

One minute a sort of friend next minute a lecturer.

Hey who mentioned the wealth ME ?? I mentioned the Heading if you care to remember.

Why use my post to bring your own thoughts. use the separate reply button.

So what is your point to me about ??? You want to talk about my dismay re the choosing of the topic tile ??

#26 tullynagadi post, mine was a reply to that.. His post in order ?? my reply did not suit you. Please do not use my post for your benefit.

Go niggle another. a good decent reply OK. stop telling me what to do---and how to conduct myself go for a walk have a coffee.

To add read #60.

Oh please Ginjag, you have been giving out to every poster that's criticising the PM as in your telling them to stop, I keep telling you this, but he doesn't need your support, and neither do the mods, whom, if they see fit will delete posts and give out suspensions, you should stop getting so worked up about the PM, your his most ardent supporter on TVF by far, and I simply cannot understand how any Westerner believes that Mlitary rule is great!!

I know what military life is like, I can relate to a lot of the things going on, I might be a guest in this country, but it doesn't mean I support coming under military rule, or having an opinion that the junta are what clearly appears to the non blinkered non Thaksin non junta supporters as heavy handed at times.

Stop lambasting those who have chosen to be critical of the Junta, it is not your place to tell them what to say or what to do, it's their prerogatives, I might not like a lot of posts, but I respect everyone else's opinions even though they may differ from mine.

It's big boys rules step out if line and the mods will go their thing, Christ you even had a dig at TVF for the negative headline do you not understand how infantile that makes you look.

I suggest you should also go for a coffee and learn to stop taking things so seriously and at face value, if a post winds me up, I ignore it for a few hours and look at other topics that are a hunderd miles apart from the one that's getting on your goat!!

?

Thanks for the stupid lectures, You are more et up about him being PM. You respect other peoples opinions BUT NOT MINE 555555

Freedom of speech re headline, it was inappropriate --because of the types of hardliners on here--inviting anti PM comments and the next thing posters not to comment about the PM ?? that's all I said.

Your name calling has not gone un noticed re some remarks. Stop the headmaster style--sickening.

My father is a multi-millionare, I am a humble thousandare. If Pops sells 5 million dollars of his assets tomorrow, I'd be annoyed if someone asked ME for details. Pops' business is his business - he paid for my tuition and boarding and that's it, drinking money I earned as a security guard and barman. (Not all rich families spoil their kids..some instill values of independence and an appreciation for ''finding your own way'')

There are some things that should be kept personal for the general, however this huge amount of family wealth is not one as it's of public interest. How dare reporters and posters discuss it, you will hurt his feeling's.

It was his father's land that was sold and Prayuth disclosed that he got a share of the proceeds. He didn't say it was the maids or drivers. The company mentioned wasn't set up by him but by the purchaser!

Non story really!
