With respect why don't you go along to your local DLT with a Thai friend or a Thai hired helper and go through the motions of getting the Thai licences you require, it really is easy and they won't eat you.

Yes I will do but I thought someone done recently and knew. From what I understand the rules have changed and you drive first and take the written test later.
