My ex girlfriend's nice was at the time a nurse in Bang Po & received ฿30000 a month, would think a doctor would receive more.

That was regarded as good by my girlfriend & family. Very proud.

The Issan girl done good.

I wouldn't mind & could weather a rise in taxi fare but whether the Thai people would stick it is another matter.

For them to set the market rate.

I have had some on site experience of nurses in Thailand, and as a registered nurse myself I have to say for what they do ( very little ) they don't deserve 30,000 a month.

My wife has been in the local hospital several times and I stayed to look after her, which was just as well because the nurses did SFA except give her drugs.

Have you experience of Thai nurses that actually do patient cares, like feeding them ( or at least putting the food where they can reach it ) bathing them, helping them to the bathroom? None of them I saw do anything as basic as patient cares.

Would you be happier if I said "the nurses in my local hospital don't deserve 30,000 a month"?

So you base your conclusion on one government hospital staff? I've been in 3 intensive care units in three different hospitals and three private rooms for extended care in those hospitals. One government hospital (Navy) and two private hospitals. Standard of care in all three was good and the two private hospitals better than the USA.

Leave the intensive care out of it. That is highly specialised and they will of course get paid well. Did the nurses help you with cares in the private rooms, or was it left to other staff?

Anyway, how many years have you worked in a hospital in the west to compare what they do?
