Hi All,

I got 3 months Non B Visa - Single from Thai embassy in my country. Then my company provided 1 year work permit for me.

Now I'm in process to extend my visa to 1 year.

Can anyone suggest me if they extend my visa to 1 year but single entry, how much will I pay for immigration when I come back from outside Thailand?

Because they use the third party service, HR & Admin don't know clearly to explain me.

As I understood, now I have 2 choices:

1. Pay more to extend multiple 1 year visa (not single) so every time I go outside Thailand, I don't need to pay to re-entry

2. As my friend advised, when I come back from outside Thailand, I'll register re-entry form at airport. 1000 baht/ single re-entry or 5000 baht/ multiple re-entry within a year.

If anyone knows, please kindly advise me. Because I got many different ideas, I don't know which one is right.

Thanks a lot in advance.

You get an extension of stay from immigration for 1 year, there is nothing single or multiple about that and it is not a visa.

To keep the 1 year permission to stay alive when you leave Thailand you need a re-entry permit, this costs 1,000 for a single and 3,800 for a multiple and is valid for the duration of your permission to stay.

Visas are not extended a permit to stay you get from one is extended.

When you get an extension of stay you need a re-entry permit to keep your extension valid if want to leave the country. A single re-entry permit costs 1000 baht and a multiple re-entry permit costs 3800 baht.

If you expect travel several times a year you can apply for the multiple re-entry permit at the same time you get your extension and it will be valid for the length of the extension. You can also get a single re-entry permit that would be valid until you use it during the length of your extension.

You can also get re-entry permits at the airport on departure from the country.

Thank you very much.

My friend works in Cambodia , company applied 1 year visa multiple. So when he travels, he only stamp the passport , don't need to apply any application at airport.

It may be different from Thailand.

Anyway, Thanks for your help.

You can apply for a multiple entry visa for here at an embassy or consulate that gives a 90 day entry meaning you have to leave the country every 90 days.

With a an extension of stay and a multiple re-entry permit you can travel when you want. You do not have to apply at the airport every time you leave.
