BANGKOK: -- A woman was killed when her Honda Civic sedan plunged from the seventh floor of the parking lot of The Mall Bangkapi.

She was identified as Ms Supaporn Wiengnark, 45.

She died inside the badly damaged car which laid upside down on the ground.

Investigation by Lardprao police revealed that she engaged in an accident with a car while driving down the eight floor to the seventh floor and crashed into a concrete wall and fell to the ground.

A witness said her car hit another car while coming down and lost control and banked on the wall. The car which was hit by her car also rammed into two other cars.

Police said they would look into video cameras in the car park to find the exact cause of the fatal accident.

The incident forced the department store to close the car park area for inspection.

Where the cars going at high speed? This seems at for inside a car park.

Do you think need high speed to brake those 8 cm small walls, which are not bonded to the concrete-vase? You go and check them by yourself.

I'm scared to lean them.

It's a big joke the local architecture. Reo Reo but with out any quality and safe.

tell me about it. They budget so tight here scraping for every inch of profit to make, our firm has to reduce the materials to the most rudimentary, basic things. Sometimes its appalling the laws which have such low building standards..take balcony surface height, for example, handrails and so on. I think 'yikes' every time..

Interesting to notice the text on the OP-photo "Palm Rescue Club"

Clearly more interested in making a little money, than actually helping the victim!!bah.gif

How did you manage to work that out from a photo? Your posts just keep getting more and more banal.

Do not think there was anything they could have done anyway, seems as the photos were endorsed PRC at least any royalties will be going to the PRC not an individual.

A similar incident happened at the building where I work. A lady died when she drove her car down the ramp and through the wall from the 6th floor of the car park.

The walls offer no protection, they are mainly just brick infill panels, rendered and painted. You don't need to drive that fast to go over.

My wife and her papa and me were out driving recently . I asked my wife what she thought the solid yellow line in the middle of the road was for , she did not know so I told her to ask papa who used to drive a tuk tuk taxi full time and his reply was , to be able to see the road easier at night when dark "biggrin.png True

Incidents like this happens in first world western nations too, people are quick to jump into conclusion that she cannot drive. There are people who can't drive on both sides of the ocean. Why does some find the need to point a finger at the deceased?

That photo was taken from the twitter account that belongs to the "Palm Rescue Club". They are an emergency volunteer group / organization that makes money by bring the injured / deceased to hospitals. Hospitals give commission to these rescue workers, in Thailand there are rivalries between these emergency volunteer groups and every year there are some kind of a shoot out between groups for stepping on each others turf.

Look people ... you say RIP and stuff.

Yet if you really looked at how these people drive, you would see that in most cases their own inability is a contributory factor in their 'accidents'.

An 'accident' is that which is unavoidable.

Knowing how to drive correctly would make some of these incidents avoidable and hence not 'accidents'.

So very different than from the UK where nobody ever drives poorly.
