current rules about Non-Immigrant O-A multiple entry visa

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have been reading some posts in this forum regarding the Non-Immigrant O-A multiple entry visa and I would like to know if the information is upto date.

I have one of these visas issued from the Thai Embassy in Vancouver, the enter before date is Jan 30, 2015.

I have been in Thailand for about 9 months now with an expiry stamp in my passport for Mar 4, 2015, one year after I entered.

The posts I found here say that if I leave Thailand before Jan 30, 2015 - the enter before date on the visa- and renter, also before that date, I will get another year.

Is that correct? Has anyone had any recent experience with this since the change in government?

thanks

If you do an entry on or before the enter before date of your visa you will get another one year entry. After that you will need to get a re-entry permit to keep that permit to stay valid if you want to travel.

There have been no changes.

Hi ubonjoe

Today my thaiwife and I went to CM Immigration for my first 90 day report. We were surpriced when they asked us to go to Amphur to get "some kind of registration".

We got married in Thailand in may 2014 and I have a Non-O multiple entry visa from Thai Embassy in Denmark with enter before 9. june 2015.

Our marriage is registred both in Denmark and Thailand and we got all documents legalized.

We had a trip to Vietnam in sep 2014 with Immigration-stamp "Admitted until 13. dec 2014.

Have you any idea what we need to do in Amphur.

Any help is really appreciated.

Unless you are on an extension of stay you do not need to make 90 day reports. Your visa only allows you to stay in the country tor 90 days.

No sure why the they were asking for it but they want a Kor Ror 2 marriage registry from the Amphoe. You can get it at any Amphoe and it only costs 20 baht to get the print out of it. It is proof you are still married.

Hi again and thanks for your fast reply.

I can see in all our papers that we already have a Kor ror 2 Marriage Registration from Amphur so that should be okay but I worry that you say I can only stay in Thailand for 90 days since I have a 1 year visa based on marriage to thai.

Best regards

Your visa may be valid for a year but it only allows you to get a 90 day entry.

Perhaps the immigration officer was offering you a 60 day extension to visit your wife so you would not have to leave the country for another entry on or before the 13th.

If you do not want to leave the country every 90 days you should apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage. You will need 400k baht in a Thai bank for 60 days or proof of 40k baht income. You can apply for it during the last 30 days of any of your 90 day entries from your visa.

Sorry for my ignorance about this, ubonjoe.

We will go to bank and get the 400K statement and then to Imm to apply for one year extension based upon marriage - guess I still have to do 90 day report after getting the extension ?

The account will need to be in your name only. You will need a letter from the bank confirming your balance and copies of the bank book to prove it has been in the bank for 60 days.

If you get the extension done your first report to immigration will be 90 days from the 13th.
