TAT: Positive feedback received from recent roadshows

BANGKOK, 3 December 2014 (NNT) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has revealed that its recent roadshows in Jordan and Egypt were a great success, with a large number of bookings made, while expecting the Middle Eastern market to grow 8.16 percent next year.

Ms Juthaporn Rerngronasa, the TAT’s Deputy Governor for International Marketing in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas, stated that there were eight companies joining the TAT in the roadshows in Jordan and Egypt during November 24-28. She expressed satisfaction over the results, given several packages for 2015 were reserved in advance by tour agencies in both countries.

The Deputy Governor pointed out that the motive behind the roadshows was to help Thai businesses explore and penetrate the two markets, which are deemed to have strong potential. Jordanian and Egyptian visitors are mostly considered high-end customers of the Thai tourism sector, especially honeymoon couples.

In 2013, Thailand recorded the number of tourists from Jordan at about 12,000, an increase of 38 percent from the previous year, while a rise of 48 percent was also seen in the number of Egyptian travelers. The TAT is targeting to push up the number in either group by another 10 percent in 2015.

As for the Middle Eastern market as a whole, the tourist number next year is estimated at 721,000, increasing 8.16 percent, with a total revenue of over 48 billion baht. The TAT is also prepared to penetrate new markets in North African countries, including Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

Positive Feedback ? Well where TAT is involved it couldn't be anything else.

Not worth commenting on , the article speaks for itself, Quality indeed..bah.gif

To improve the service for existing customers is of course not an option??

Oh silly me!! Thai's never do anything wrong, so let us blame the visitors!!coffee1.gif

Now I understand the temporary closure of the soapy places!!

TAT was making adjustments, to make sure everything is hal-al!!

Why does it not even surprise me at the tone of the comments on this thread to date?

I am surprised they did not stop over in Iraq and Syria

Just goes to show you how low their own self esteem is. What next, Lebanese and South Americans.

Why does it not even surprise me at the tone of the comments on this thread to date?

May be because people are worried all the ladyboys will be unavailable

Yes we all had a good time and they promised to send us lots of tourists ( only quality ones naturally ) and we beleive them!

Bit short of Russians this year though.

Theres a lot of people in Syria,Iraq, and Afghanistan that would like to

get away on a holiday.

Thai TAT "revealed" large number of bookings, but no interviews or quotes from the Jordanians or Egyptians to affirm this "claim." TAT's claims are to be trusted 100%.

Great idea targeting countries that have had civil unreast and wars for many years.....obviously, high end, well to do mysoginist men and women covered head to toe in Burqa...........

So, instead of 24.014 million tourists soon we'll have 24.016 million what with all those Jordanians coming over ?

The market will grow 8.16%, couldn't they be a little more accurate.

Yep, lure them in and show them the 5 tourist attractions in development.

Hey!!!.....if it come's from the TAT,

then it has to be true!

HA..HA..HA..HA..!!!

Yah right!

LMAO....!

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has revealed that its recent roadshows in Jordan and Egypt were a great success, with a large number of bookings made

The TAT only got these bookings, because they promised that Bangkok street food vendors had 'Goat on a Stick' on the menu.

This predilection with 'quality' and 'high-end' tourists is both crass and downright tasteless,

Which one made the bookings and who gave you the positive feedback? Eh, eh, eh...

I suppose just getting away would be holiday enough for most of them - if not all.wai.gif

8.16 percent? Why not 8.17 or 8.18? I'd love to see how they work out these silly sums and how earth they expect even a gullible Thai public to swallow them.

Still, I guess wishful thinking costs nothing.
