LK Metropole is very good and has a nice sociable pool out front. Haven't stayed there for a couple of years mind - so check out reviews on Agoda.com, Booking.com and/or tripadvisor.co.uk.

From memory nice big rooms and about 2,000 baht out of season. Probably a lot more at height of season and it was very popular even then, so I suspect you may be unlucky

So many places around Soi Buakhao.

Would probably need some more details (price range, expected facilities)?

Most popular low cost places (e.g. "Nature View") might already been fully booked.

I like "Opey de Place" though there might be places with more "value for the money" in terms of room decoration, modern aircon?

Both places in the 1000 Baht range (+/- 200).

Why stay in the middle of all the action , and noise 24/7 . Is that something to look forward too? Only 2 km up Pattaya Tai and you'll find plenty of places to live and more quite .

Each to his own.

Hotels like Areca and Opey are quiet.

I had no problems to sleep when I preferred to.

To me In Pattaya its good to have the action in walking distance without the need of transport.
