Thai Embassy in China does not issues B-visa nor Tourist-visas for Non-Chinese

Featured Replies

Hi,

Im in China and did asked for a B-visa for Thailand at Thai Embassy in Guangzhou. But they do not issue B-visa nor a Tourist-visa for non-Chinese without a Chinese work permit blink.png We also asked 2 different visa agents and they confirmed it too.

How can that even be possible?????

Has anyone here got a thai-visa from a Thai Embassy in China?

There are many embassies and consulates that will not issue visas unless the applicant is a citizen or legal resident of the country where they are located. China is just one of many.

I see. Thanks. But where can i apply for a B-visa then and how long will it take?

We are a team of 5 (4 Chinese) wh are going to visit a customer in Thailand to do some planing, meassurmens and attend meetings and fairs. The Chinese have no problems to get their B-visas but me they refused.

I am not sure where you can get one within the region without a work permit or a work permit application approval letter.

Singapore perhaps but they will want documents from a Thai company.

It is a CATCH-22 - As we are not employed by our customer (BOI Approved) nor registered for social in Thailand, they will not be able to supply us with a work permit. They have spent a few weeks and also paid an agent to manage us a WP but failed. The last option is just to get there on a B-visa and hope for the best.

The Chinese does not need any proof/recommendation letter from our customer for their B-visa.

We want to follow the laws, but it's impossible, even for a BOI company.

Despite everyone's opinion that no place in SEA issues a non-b visa unless there is work permit, I received mine at Phnom Penh in Cambodia. You do need to have all of your paper work in order and was inspected very throughly, even the place where I was havng my meeting were called. Print what they need form their website and organize all your papers... you should be fine.

I got my Non-B in Beijing 4 years ago with a letter from a BOI company inviting me down for a job interview- plus a little bit of documentation verifying their status as a BOI company. I was a non-Chinese on a Business visa- not a resident.

Never had to leave Thailand for the rest of the process. Been here on a WP ever since. I miss the seasons. (but I digress)
