4,000 forums to be held to listen to people’s opinions on national reform

BANGKOK, 4 December 2014 (NNT) - The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) will arrange more than 4,000 forums nationwide to listen to opinions from all sectors in the society. The forums are part of the council’s road map in the second phase which emphasizes on national reform and charter rewrite.


Director of the Center for National Reconciliation and Reform Lt.Gen. Phisit Sitthisan said unity and reconciliation were crucial to Thailand’s transformation. That was why the NCPO used His Majesty the King’s concept of “Understand, Reach out and Development” in developing strategies in the 2nd phase of the road map, said the director.

The 4,000 forums are expected to be attended by the general public, college students, academics and people from all professionals. They will voice their opinions and suggestions on national reform in 11 fields. The NCPO hopes that they will lead to solutions to conflicts in the society without the use of violence.
