My friend invited me to Sanam Luang for the birthday celebrations tomorrow. I've never been. Is it worth going to? Fun? I dont really like crowds, nationalism, or hordes of old people... but I dont know - maybe its okay?

swore not to go again after 2009, thought I was going to get crushed in the crowd, rather scary at the time. If you don't like Thai music not much point going, fireworks are good

i was at Sanam Luang during their Kite Flying festival !! It is VERY VERY spectacular.

Just can't remember the date it takes part every year . . . . .

Last time I went was in 1999 that was the first time i ever saw someone doing the yabba shuffle.

It's crowded and there's a lot of hopped up young Thai guys around.

Mostly it's good natured but I think it's not the place for us westerners. Not un the evening anyway
