Question about itinerary portion of visa application (US)

Featured Replies

I'm from the US and I am trying to apply for a visa in order to undertake a stint in TEFL. There's an area in the requirements that says they want to have a copy of your plane tickets or itinerary which shows your flights into and out of Thailand. My dilemma is that I got a one way ticket, so there is no returning flight made just yet. Has anyone had a similar scenario? I'm just curious because I would hate to get denied when my flight is only a month away. I eventually plan to come home, but I am hoping to get my tourist visa changed to a Non-Immigrant visa with a work permit when I get hired. Any information would be helpful regarding this. Thank you.

You could buy a one way ticket to a nearby country on a low cost airline (check airasia.com). You don't have to have a return ticket.

You could also check with one of the honorary consulates about getting your visa. I don't think they have tickets as a requirement. Contact info: http://www.thaiembdc.org/dcdp/?q=consulate_honorary

Thanks! I'll give them a call tomorrow. I wasn't expecting a response so fast.
