What do the defense have to show 'we are not guilty.

Moe Moe found them sleeping.

Did they clear a first dna test?

Did they ever dye hair?

Is there any video showing them going back to the room?

Is there another witness who saw them go to the room.

One piece of evidence to show they went back to the room would delete any evidence of prosecution. Thelawyer should focus on collecting his own evidence to show the boys innocent. It is prosecution duty to show evidence of guilt.

It is defence duty to show evidence of innocence.

Only in the real World.

TIT

Case already decided so unless there is a smoking gun they have zero chance of aquittal.

It has been said previously, what is on international trial here is RTP and, to a large extent, the current regime,

the Burmese guys are pawns in this insidious game of politics and trade agreements, unfortunately.

Sad reflection of modern human values when the victims, their families and the accused are of little consequence to politicians

and so called law enforcement agencies.

Cash is God the world over, not just in Thailand.

Why didn't they just run after committing such a horrendous attack? If this was premeditated were they so cool calm and collected to commit such a horrific double murder they felt the law would never catch them?

I just can't see for the life of me why they singled out David and Hannah, when Ibwas on Koh Tao back in July there was LOTS of couples walking along the beach at night laughing and joking and looking very happy and sharing the odd smooch, so what exactly made Hamnah and David stand out from any other couples?

not taking your pathetic bait.................its clear your vested interest in KT makes your biased views blind to any argument other than supporting the RTP line

No bait at all. News sources give facts.

Your source according to you, requires speculation.

For you yes

Pardon?

The reason we link to news articles and not blogs is to prevent the necessity of speculation. Speculation is something some members have promised not to do regarding this case.

News source only report what is given. And it's from the police. The very police that can not be trusted 100%. As money can by freedom in Thailand. It's so common to read articles that the police would say, some how the suspect slipped away while in custody. Kind of prove the point. It's more of embarrassment, but not in Thailand. It's business as usual.

Can you tell me in your opinion on Thai police. How many percentage do you think are honest? And very few cops here take bribes?

I don't think people would have doubts, but with rtp record and their own personal encounter with police, makes people question these authorities. Is questioning authority wrong? We are talking about two lives that we would like to see a fair trial for.

If you trust the news 100%, then you must trust the source 100%. Which means you trust the police 100%.

In the thread where one of the families asks for an end to the speculation.....

....from a person with hundreds of speculative posts on this topic. Classic.

You're right, but you're looking at it from a reasonable / common-sense perspective. In contrast, Thai officialdom is marching in lock-step to a contrived scenario. One or more top Thai officials thought-up a scenario which they foist upon the teeming masses. Thailand is a patriarchal society, where elders require respect and to be believed. It's a society built on education stuck in a rote system where students are required to sit in their wooden seats for 13 years, face the front of the class, accept what's being told, and ask no questions. Thankfully, younger generations of Thais are breaking out of that mold, as witnessed by the tens of thousands who aren't sucking up the manure water which Thai officialdom is dishing out re; the Ko Tao crimes.

That's just the tiniest tip of the iceberg - of the long chronicle of Thai authorities' zigs and zags. The longer Thai officialdom tries to keep their soggy charade moving along, increasing #'s of people worldwide will see them as bumbling manipulators. I don't know if the RTP has someone in charge of 'public image' but whomever it is, is doing an awful job at it. For a country which puts so much stock in 'face,' their police are doing all they can to lose it.

JohnThailandJohn: "One also is not known globally for widespread use of rape with impunity as a weaon and control tool "

Maxme, a nationality is not a race, and rape / violence against women is fairly common in Myanmar.

It doesn't mean that such commonality has any bearing on the case in question, but it is factual.

jeez Louise, you guys will dig in all sorts of trash heaps to try and make a point. I know JTJ is American, as I am, and JD may be American also, but since you'all want to try to drag the scapegoats thru the gutter, here's a little eye-opener for you: Rapes occur within the US armed forces, and they're not rare. More than a few female soldiers don't even drink liquids after 5 pm, so they don't have to slip off to the ladies room at night. If an American vet was a suspect in this case, would you say it's likely he did it, because American soldiers are known to rape women?

The point was simply that somebody trying to suggest these two had not no criminal past which of course we don't know but what we do know is they came from an area of Burma which has a lot of violence and that Burma itself has a lots of violence including the Army which is well known for raping of civilians with impunity. While they certainly may have not been part of or seen this violence there is also a good chance they were given where they lived. There is no opinion here, Burma has been, until very recently, as one of the most abusive and oppressive countries in the world with policies of ethnic cleansing still taking place to this day. But as I said, these two may have never witnessed or taken part of this and may have never served their mandatory term in the military known for its brutality against those they see as being different than them ... just a little balance to the suggestion they have no history of violence since. Bottom line we don't know but in speculating if they do it is certainly important to consider where they are from.

If I was the defense. I would check the direction the boys went back to their room. There must be a cctv shot showing them. From a seven eleven or somewhere. That would be all the proof they need.

Was thinking the same thing and would bet things like this may be some of the evidence the parents mentioned that we don't know about yet.

???

Commissioner Pol Lt Gen Panya Mamen has now reported that police investigators have obtained a key witness who said foreigner killed the two British tourists in Koh Tao island. The Nation Online website quoted Pol Lt Gen Panya Manen as telling the online newspapers today that the team of police investigators have met a key witness who claimed seeing foreigner killed the two tourists ... if confirmed, will be a significant turn of the probe which earlier focused only on locals and migrant workers after DNA testing revealed the mixed semen found inside Ms Hannah Witheridge belonged to Asians.

So as it turns out they do have witnesses that will be testifying along with other evidence, including the dna match in their case against the two foreign Asian males

Another example of your biased observations, opinions and interpretations. The dear leader instructed everyone to refer to the local Burmese population as 'migrant'. The 'migrant workers' they are referring to in the article are the Burmese.

One of the Burmese was arrested after he left Koh Tao.

...one of the held men, with the surname Soe, had admitted to being a man seen on CCTV and sought in connection with the case, but denied murder. The paper said Soe was detained when he got off a boat from Koh Tao after it arrived in Surat Thani

Fact is these migrant workers are foreigners and not only did their dna match the semen in the victims but they also match the initial DNA testing that revealed the semen came from Asians. But please go ahead and continue to fantasize and try to misinterpret things that are very clearly stated.

And ... Still waiting for you to inform us about all the unsolved murders in Koh Tao which you dishonestly claimed you can share with us.

Not to mention it was well known they were watching who was leaving the island -- as can be noted above by them picking up the above guy when he stepped off the boat.

Fat ... A better question might be why would you expect what you consider reasonable thinking from somebody who has no problem with brutally raping and murdering on a public beach.

Gen Prayuth Chan-Ocha, the Thai junta leader and Prime Minister, tried to please Burmese citizen over Koh Tao murder case by urging the media not to call them Burmese, but to call them merely migrant workers. http://www.prachatai.com/english/node/4398

Migrant workers Zaw Lin and Wai Phyo, formerly known as Win Zaw Tun, are accused of murdering 24-year-old David Miller and raping and murdering Hannah Witheridge, B.P.

Carry on waiting, or you could try looking at my previous posts, properly this time...................before you call somebody dishonest, otherwise I may just have to come back on to you with that one

Nobody saying they had a witness saying Burmese -- clearly says Foreigners. Again you are focusing on the trivial and bending reality to try to promote the very implausible.

And ... Still waiting for you to inform us about all the unsolved murders in Koh Tao which you dishonestly claimed you can share with us that would blow other information out of the water.
