Termites ate my Khaen! Where to buy a new one?

Over the past 5 years or so, my beloved Khaen has travelled with me from Phuket to Myanmar to Laos and back to Phuket. It is showing its age, with many sticky notes and is now home to some termites.

I need to buy a new, quality Khaen, (not a tourist souvenir).

Even when working in Luang Prabang, north Laos, I was unable to locate any supplier of high quality Khaenn instruments.

Can anyone help me out? I bought my Khaen via a TV member in Isaan, and he has kindly given me the contact details of the manufacturer. But they do not seem able to supply Khaens anymore.

Is there a manufacturer in Issan or a supplier in Bangkok? I will travel as far as is needed to buy a high quality Khaen.

Hi, thanks for your help, but they are not quite what I'm after. A high-quality can typically costs about 5,000 - 10,000 baht (or more), and is manufactured using materials that help to improve the tone of the instrument, such as gold or silver reed components. So I'm looking for a khaen that has been manufactured by a master craftsman. It may be newly manufactured or even an antique.

But thanks again for your help
