Just came out of the Thai consulate in vietiane all went smooth even last week holiday and Wednesday coming up. One thing is strange for me got a double entry with enter before 7 March means my last entry have to be used 4 month from now ?! Before I always had 6 month until the visa expired. Anybody knows of resent changes in this regard?

Ic so maybe that's the reason . Pity that really brings u under some pressure to use them in time - not made to custom real traveling tourist as they say are their targets, this seems more tailored for the in/out needs of some "tourist"

Vientianne, like other consulates in Asia, normally only gives a validity of 3 months.

In Europe you get 6 months on a double entry.

In Vienna I got only a single, valid 3 month, but I had asked for a dual;

the officer rude answered,

a dual also would be valid only for 3 month;

Dual were denied as i didn't have a ticket for the 2nd flight,

further she told me i have enough time to get another one !

Will Vienna consulate contact in future only if no other way !!

I imagine most people who get Thai tourist visas in Vientiane plan to enter (or more likely, return to) Thailand almost immediately, so they would stay 60 days + 30 day extension, do the border run and re-enter Thailand for the second use of the visa just before it expires.

People in Europe might be getting the visa a bit earlier than just before they depart for Thailand or make other stops before reaching Thailand.

Well it does state at the embassy website that the requirements for a tourist visa include:

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
 Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months
 Visa application form completely filled out
 Recent ( 4 x 6 cm.) photograph of the applicant
 Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per
family) (If requested by the consular or immigration officer)
Confirmed air-ticket and accommodation, if apply for double and triple entry
 Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents as
deemed necessary, i.e. proof of monthly salary, Note from the employer,
company profile and evidence of finance – if self-employed, etc.

So he/she was operating within the rules set out. Rudeness is, I suppose, in the mind of the beholder and depends on the perception of "loss of face," which is a problem for many farang.

I made in November double visa with two entry in Viantiane. Working that same way than before. I can go stamp to immigration office that after two month until 12th January and get 30days more? And after that i go out of Thailand and come back and have again 60+30 days?

I don't had any fly tickets or any else documents. I go out Thailand with bus and get visa next day and come few hours later back Thailand with bus. All go like few years ago when i was last time here.
