I have a new Asus netbook X205T and it contiues to load IE upon boot up,I,ve tried the obvious searches in start up options etc without finding any reference to IE and also I,ve downloaded Auto-runs and deleted the references to IE on start-up without sucess -any suggestions as to how I can stop the auto-loading of IE on boot up of my pc?

Have you started Autoruns as Admin and checked then ?

Sorry but my pc knowledge is rather limited and I don,t know how to do this-I downloaded auto-runs from the Microsoft website and where there was references to IE explorer I unchecked the tick boxes but to make no difference...confusing sad.png

To start it as Admin, just right click on the program and click "Run as Administrator".

Is it on the Startup tab in Task Manager? If so, disable it there.

Cannot find "print driver host" in "task manager host" I can see Taskmgr.exe but right clicking on this does not give me a delete option however I can see a winint.ex start up app but once again no option to delete or mention of loading IE/web browser?

Now under "autoruns" I have located HKLM/software Internet Explorer and right clicking it gives me the option of delete is this what I,m looking for?

Have you tried running msconfig from the command line?

The Picture I used was just an example (but I should have removed all text).

Can you post a screenshot so we can have a look ?

That only points you to Task Manager in Windows 8.1.

Good for you that you solvedit, but also a bit stupid to remove something from there without exactly knowing what you removed.

All text, or a part of it?-laugh.png

It's nice to have people like you on this forum. Otherwise all TVF members would have CC cleaner, Malwarebytes, Avast Anti virus free, AVG Anti virus free,

PC Killer, Sado Maso defrauder and probably Eset and Norton installed.-thumbsup.gif

I did actually have AVG installed but Windows 10 said "I'm not having that, I'm taking it off".

Un-ticking a box or removing it could have the same consequences.

It's good that it worked out for you this way, but please next time take a screenshot.

It's easy to do, just Click The Windows Key + R and in the dialogue that shows, just type "snippingtool"

Huh? Unticking it just stops it running at startup.

Like he says, if he wants it back he can tick it again.

Where in Autoruns does it have a "Remove" option?

Fair enough, but that only removes the entry from startup. Why is that bad?

For you and me it's not a problem as we (I hope wink.png) know what we are doing and we have ways to reverse. But IMO the OP doesn't and is just guessing and hopes it works out oke. (That's why my request for a screenshot).

Fortunately for him, it has worked out.
