Driving license

Featured Replies

Hi I lived in Thailand for many years and then left for a few and have now moved back. The issue i am having is that when i took my British driving license to do the transefer to Thai they said that i had already got a Thai license (which is true) but as i was away so long i have now lost it and it will have expired.

They let me do all the small test - colour blindness, depth perception etc then right before i paid told me i couldnt have it and would now need to do a FULL driving test.

Anyone know how i can fix this issue without having to spend 3+ days at the transport agency.

I hold FULL British license for both bike and car.

Help is much appreciated.

Easy: spend a day there and do the full test.

I hold FULL British license for bot bike and car.

Do you wish to buy a 'H' or an 'A'

Er the fact you have had a Thai DL in past trumps the fact you have a full British licence, this is irrelevant in your case, your Thai DL has obviously been expired for more than 12 months as this is the latitude they give you on 5 year DL, therefore in your case I believe they are correct in what they are asking for

Just to stress again your British licence is irrelevant in this circumstance as you are already in the Thai system
