2005 Toyota Tiger 2.5L and Blanking the EGR

Featured Replies

I asking this on behalf of a friend, he has a 2004 Toyota Tiger 2.5Ltr with 185,000Kms on the clock. He is interested in knowing if it’s worth blanking the EGR, what will be the pros and what will be the cons.

At that amount of Kms is the inlet area likely to be ‘gunged up’ ? If that is the case could straight forward blanking be bad news? … should that area be cleaned out before a blank is fitted? Is it likely to smoke? Where can a suitable blank be obtained from? He is in Phitsanulok.

Maybe this is one for Trans who I think has a slightly aging Toyota. But anyone with some technical advice is very welcome.

Thank Guys

The truck has 9 years of gunk in the engine - I'd worry about that before I'd worry about blanking an EGR valve ;)

I wouldn't call tranny's 2007 Vigo classic, it looks pretty much the same as the new model :)
