I applied for my non immigrant OA visa on 24 November and the female agent who I am convinced does not like me told me that I would have to call her almost one month later on her private mobile to see if I was successful. Is that normal? Anyhow today I have called her back and she puts the phone down on her desk after saying 'hold on while I check about your visa' and then the phone goes dead. This has happened three times now - once I was holding for ten minutes.

This does not sound kosher....perhaps she is hot on ya.

Either that, or she wants you to work undercover....turning in your buddies to immigration.

Visas are applied for overseas. I don't understand your post. It makes no sense.

I applied for the 90 day extension that leads to a retirement. They have been calling it a Non Immigrant O or OA (can't remember) in the CM office.

You did not apply for an non-immigrant OA immigration. These are not issued at any immigration office, they are only issued outside Thailand.

You first need to figure out what you want to apply for.

It is not unusual for them to have you call them on a mobile phone number. It probably is not her personal number but one paid for by immigration.

You apparently did a conversion to a 90 day non immigrant visa entry based upon qualifying for an extension of stay based upon retirement. It is not a OA visa.

Thanks ubon joe. That's what I wondering about. And does it normally take one month to get it? They said I had a 50/50 chance.

It should not take that long but CM is telling everybody 30 days. They have to be approved by division 5 headquarters in CM is what I have read.

As Ubonjoe is the expert I suggest to the OP to send him a PM with a copy of submitted documents so he can review and comment privately. Never heard that any conversion to a Non O or the extension based on retirement takes a month.

Non O based on Marriage is a different story.

On my fifth call to the office today, they confirmed to me that the conversion was successful. It took 25 days. Case closed.
