I saw a news item on the TV the other night. It was set in Greece. The tradition of Flowers and Dancing. Mate, not a piss-take. They showed a night club scene, where people would but baskets of flowers (no stems) and throw them at the Dancers on Stage. And we are talking like 40 Euro a basket.
