Everyone, regardless of their gender, were targeted and on this occasion, those suspected of engaging in prostitution, were detained and taken to Pattaya Police Station for profiling and fining.

The detainees were aged between 18 and 45 and were each fined the small sum of 100 Baht before being released with a stern warning.

  • Totally useless action as usual. Sounds more like a quick collection of a few thousand baht to by whisky for the Christmas/New Year parties down at Soi 9!

  • 100 baht, a stern warning and straight back on the street. I suppose 7000 baht for The Xmas fund was a good bit of work

  • Do they think people come to Pattaya for the beach? Lol

Here we go again. Grab 100 baht of everyone and let them off with a "Stern Warning". Why don't the Cops intern them in Buriram or somewhere over the holidays.

They are just trying to earn a living like everyone else. I wonder if the Orange guys are having any effect on the jet ski scam.

It also let's them know WHO is on the beach. It's a kind of registration service.

Yep that's the turkey sorted.

What are you talking about? The resident beach hookers, ladyboys and scammers get busted nearly every week. They're all on first name terms with the Chief of Police.

It's not illegal to be on the beach, the 100 baht is just a scam because none of them committed any crime but issuing fine and paying takes time, time they can not return to the beach and loss of customers.

I guess the punters will have to fork out an extra 100 baht for their nookie this Christmas. wink.png

How can this happen when Pattaya has the special beach Police (in orange) patrolling 24/7?

Ladyboys are getting prettier and prettier. I think I just did a little vomit.

and here is me thinking ''Prostitution was ilegal in Thailand''... ??????

The Thai way of life

Step 1) Pay a 100 Baht fine because you are plying your trade as a prostitute on Beach Road

Step 2) Immediately return to Beach Road to ply your trade as a prostitute because you need to recoup your 100 Baht lose

Lather, rinse, repeat

Khun Bob

They arrested Simple Jack. That ma-ma-ma-makes my eyes rain.

Isn't this so silly.

Just a matter of being seen to do something however futile.

They are back there in a few hours and short of a small amount of money they need to recover.

Had they been detained until Jan 5th there may have been some reduction in crime over the festive season.

This "crackdown" is more ludicrous than doing nothing (activity they are much more familiar with). Maybe the Starbucks fund needed replenishing?

I was in Pattaya for 6 days a couple of weeks ago. I walked along Beach Road from Soi 8 to Mike Shopping Mall every night and never saw any of the "boys in Orange"! I saw lots of ladyboys though.

I also drove along Beach Road several times in the day-time and never saw an "Orange shirt" except on the big posters!

So where are they and what are they (not) doing?

Who say's they are from Buriram?

Because the Bib run the beach & this is a way to continue to earn money from the traders (whatever they pedal)

on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

If they're locked up, shipped out where will the tea money come from??

As always it is business as usual!

Exactly, "Here we go again" ..

Why don't you take a break in Buriram, or somewhere over the holidays? coffee1.gif

Some one needs to turn this into a comic strip. The things that go on here just blow my mind sometimes.

I saw this in action all the working girls were running for cover as the police swept beach road. At least encouraging to see that not only farangs being extorted for cash.

Please re-read the sentence.

Thanks for the invitation but I have made other arrangements. Maybe see you at the WSBK in the RAM.

You guys have no idea about police work.

You have got an old bone : " 100 B. very cheap .... 55555 "

BUT the police made a massive data gathering with photos and finger prints, so when you will be robbed by your next prostitute or lady boy lover, police will show you many pictures about possible perpetrators.

Kaochai mai?

With the 7,000 collected from the girls, why didn't the Police put them on a police bus and take them back to their villages in Nakhon Nowhere?

To really clean up Pattaya the first step should be to get rid of each and every corrupt cop.

This thread is hilarious.

The action by the police is funny enough ... but you folks really crack me up!

Next time, please get the Farang customers who force prostitution.
