Anupong denies NCPO planning to remain in power after poll

Featured Replies

Funny thing is people jump on the bandwagon straight away and cry "conspiracy" ...

The extremely gullible and non-critical would. I mean, come on, a poster with the name of "Ikke" posting a conspiracy speculation? You couldn't possibly make this up. (Ref.: David Icke).

You really ought lo look up the actual meaning of 'conspiracy'. I really don't see any difference in that which the junta is intending and China's Politburo. Both wield ultimate power. Having said that, in the case of Thailand, they always have.

BTW The reference to swivel eyed Icke as in David, was silly and childish. Now go to your room laugh.png

"that which the junta is intending"

That's the conspiracy theory part.

Uh.... You're the one objecting to being labeled a conspiracy nut, right?

With comments like these, you're not really helping dispel that observation.

Fair point!

Maybe Alwyn, or Ikke, or maxme could enlighten us all regarding their deep knowledge of things to come, straight from their Thai fortune teller.

It depends which conspiracy theory you want to listen to.

whether they literally continue to stay in power under a different name or just rig the game (again) to keep control doesn't really matter.

It's not a conspiracy theory, it's observation of current events.

It's not a conspiracy theory, it's observation of current events.

Taken straight from the script every conspiracy theorist follows judiciously.

Same you said if you were advocating the 9/11 'inside job' controlled demolition inanities...

(Hint: you can't make 'observations' of events that haven't happened yet.)

What is clear to me is that about 45% of Thai people will vote anyone into power who promises to take the wealth of the nation and hand it out to them (minus 30% in 'fees' of course). Before I came here I would never have believed I would hold this opinion - but society in this country is not yet evolved far enough for those people to make decisions of this magnitude. I suppose the evolutionary theory is to let the country slide into the abyss so these people can learn by their mistake - but the coups keep stepping in to save the people from themselves.

Maybe the long term solution is to let people like Thaksin plunder the country into utter ruin and civil war. Just like they nearly did this time. I think it will take as much as that before red-shirts can see themselves for what they really stand for.

The RedShirts, and their acolytes on these forums, never will - they will just blame 'the elite' or the 'invisible hand' or 'foreign influences' and claim those that disagree with them are 'fascist thugs' or something...

The one thing that will happen, though, is that U.S. state department will be terribly quiet when something like this were to happen, unable (as usual) to put 2+2 together.

Current events? You're talking about what's going to happen in the future. Are you a time traveler?

It's interesting that some of the people that believe this crap also believe that there won't be elections.

It'd be curious revisiting these threads and predictions in 3-5 years - of course, that be like asking about submarines.

I was responding to tb with regards to time travel.

Oh there will be elections alight, they just wont mean much if a certain factions opinions and ideas bare fruit.

Right, the coup did not happen yet ...

What hasn't happened yet is an election, for there to be a "charter protectors committee" after it. So it's not "current events".

Do these guys live in the same universe and time reference than us?

Politburo and Monarchy??

A very interesting cocktail!!

The Chinese Politburo officials are called princes ("taizidang") and their children are referred to as princelings. Same-Same?

Prayuth just said, "... from 2015 to 2020 Thailand would develop its security ..."

And remember his statements in The Nation 2014-07-26 :

"No matter how much power the NCPO has, if the use of power is undertaken for the benefit of the people and the country, there should be no worries," he said. "If people who run the country are not good, transparent or efficient, they can be replaced at any time. Please trust the NCPO for how it exercises its power," he said, adding, "We have no desire to stay in power for a long time."

The Thai military see themselves as the sole protectors of national security. That was its reason for the coup in the first place. The NCPO may rebrand itself into a less visible institution, vis a vis authority embedded in the new Constitution to override any of the three branches of the government, but I doubt NCPO will be willing to give up its unabashed absolute power over the nation in exchange for political promises.

It has been reported? Reported by who? Where do they get this information from? Is there a source?

Or is just a journalist spreading rumors so they can write a news story to justify their salary.

Funny thing is people jump on the bandwagon straight away and cry "conspiracy" while the journalist sits in the corner smirking and counting his pay check.

And just one example of less than truthful reporting the recent 'interview with yingluck' by a female reported from one of the English dailies which turned out to be a composite of things the reporter had gleaned at a distance over several years and her 'interview' included some less than truthful supposed quotes from yingluck.

Just your opinion and your twists and spins.

Many other would disagree.

So, concentrating on the topic, do you not agree with Thailand further developing it's security? Do you think that there is no need to do so? Thailand being so peaceful and friendly that all terrorists will leave it alone, or will other states protect it ?

So we getting closer to the true story behind the coup !

At last, others are waking up to what's really been going on!! "

Given the events of the last ten years and especially the last three years before the coup there is a case to say one man attempted and to some extent succeeded in gaining absolute power with no regard or respect whatever for the rights and expectations of the whole populace to ultimately, as a populace to control the destiny of Thailand.

One could add the comment from the post above: " At last, others are waking up to what's really been going on!! "

That's not my logic. That's not even logic.

The thread is about what's going to happen in the future, ie after an election, and you're calling it current events.

I don't think you'll get him to understand you - he's playing the 'plausible incredulity' game.
