Vasectomy- is it safe to get done in Thailand?

Featured Replies

I want to get a vasectomy but am unsure whether to get it done in Thailand or wait 6 months until i visit my home country of Australia. Does anyone have any good or bad expereinces with this procedure in Bangkok or Udon Thani?

Balls to that!

Its a simple procedure.

Believe it or not Thai doctors can do more than apply sticky plasters on abrasions.

Let your gf/wife find you with another girl and you'll have it done next time you sleep.

It is widely done in Thailand and a number of TV members have had it done here, do a search for "vasectomy" in this forum.

The majority of vasectomies in Thailand are performed at PDA clinics and they have more experience than anywhere else in country. Inexpesnve, too. Strictly no frills, bit safe/good medical quality.

Make sure it's what you want as reversal is much more expensive and not 100% guaranteed.

Make sure you don't get your thumbs caught between the bricks.

Pick the cheapest doctor or you might wake up with a bonus pair of breast

Watch a YouTube video of the procedure first. You may change your mind. And of course, there are two of them! 555

I don't think it's safe in any country, but in Thailand I would make very sure the doctor understands what he has to do...

I would personally recommend Samitivet hospital in Bangkok. World class hospital and world class doctors. A bit more expensive, but for this sort of thing you don't want to be cheap.

I was done in 1975 in a company hospital in Africa!Divorced two years later and remarried ,long waiting list in the UK for reversal but got divorced again so saved by that!!If you do not need to have it done don't.Are their any side effects? At 72 I cannot say for certain but I have not tried Viagra as yet but it may be just around the corner!!

Two Cents:

It is more important who does the procedure than where it is done. Surgery is not a commodity so don't shop for price.

If you expect recourse if there are complications, get it done in Oz.

There is a vet clinic down the road. Why go to a samiti vet in BKK?

Don't complain if your voice sounds like Micheal Jackson afterwards 5555 Look to be safe wear briefs and take hot baths followed by an ice bath kills the boys no swimmers for weeks.cheesy.gif

Safe, easy procedure. Had mine about 30 yrs ago. Difficult part is adjusting to your voice being an octave higher.

Best investment I ever made!

of cause its safe, Ask my kids

I had the op in a private Bangkok clinic about 40 years ago after our second child. The doctor and his wife, also a doctor, were then both doctors to royalty and came highly recommended. The procedure is simple and done under local anaesthetic; snip, snip and Bob's your aunty!

There was a slight complication in my case due to a twisted vas deferens from an old injury - slipped on a muddy log crossing a stream and came down open legged - now that made my eyes water.

Slight bruising of the scrotum for a few days but otherwise no side effects. The recommendation then was a sperm count after six weeks before unprotected sex but I never did demand a recount. Wife came off the pill after three months and we still have two children both adults with their own families.

it is risky, there's a good chance you wont be able to father a child again!cheesy.gifwai2.gif

Best decision I ever made, 40 years ago! No pain, no drawbacks.

PDA, Sukh Soi 12, next door to Cabbages & Condoms.

I found the most painful part was the tattoo in the ear.

Had a vasectomy about 35 years ago by a Dr. from India practicing in a small town in the US...quick, simple, and relatively painless...have had no problems...or children...Amen...

I always thought your profile picture was you, but I suppose it is Thailand.

I did it a few weeks ago in Piyavate Nawamin. Was very professional and nurses were great at making you feel relaxed. It was so much better than I thought and the stories I heard. 15 minutes surgery and 30 minutes lying in recovery. Pain was minimal and check up 2 weeks later was quick and simple. I was worked up for nothing, easy procedure and I felt very safe in the hands, literally, of my doctor. Go back for a wank test next month. It was 12,700 including medication.

Sorry, had that hospital on the brain from a terrible time. Last month was photharam hospital!

The one major side affect is meeting and marrying a young woman who blames your last wife for making you get clipped and the fact she now wants a baby because her friends have them. 300,000 plus for a reversal but a qualified urologist must recommend to the infertility lab.

Yes why not, but beware of any clinic that also does the Ladyboy operations.
