January 6, 200719 yr Author Well, whilst I've been away the miserable form continues, a couple of draws and a two-nil loss last week. 13 players on the injury list and the loss of top spot to the Dags. Back to winning ways today Home to Morcambe today, I hope they make a Wise move of it! Good Luck Moss
January 6, 200719 yr Author Another bore draw. Oxford just cannot score, the Dags win 3-2 and now we are 4 points behind. Good Luck Moss
January 6, 200719 yr Have had 2 losses now, so not quite such runaway leaders. Dag & Red are still winning a lot. We're still 8 points clear of third (so 8 points clear in the promotion spots) so I don't see it being a problem to go straight back up... How many automatic promotion places in the Conference? One or two?

Trust me, they can't keep playing this bad!! But they have a horrendous injury list at the moment. Good Luck Moss
January 9, 200719 yr Is Matty Robinson still at Oxford? I used to rate him when he was at Reading, but he was obviously not premiership material, but I heard a rumour that the Bald Eagle was prepared to let him go??
January 11, 200719 yr Author Is Matty Robinson still at Oxford?I used to rate him when he was at Reading, but he was obviously not premiership material, but I heard a rumour that the Bald Eagle was prepared to let him go?? Yes he was prepared to let him go and did at the last clearout toward the end of the season. Good Luck Moss
January 14, 200719 yr Author Still struggling for goals at the moment, scrape thru with a 1-0 penalty win against Lewes in the replay of the FA Trophy. Saturday brought 2-2 draw with Halifax in the next round, so at least a couple of goals registered. Good luck Moss
January 14, 200719 yr Author To get over the scoring problems Oxford have travelled to Latvia, signing Kristaps Grebis, apparently a free scoring striker in his own country. We shall see. Good Luck Moss
January 22, 200719 yr Author Oxford continue their poor run. 2-2 draw at home to Halifax and lose the replay 2-1, in the FA Trophy. Draw 2-2 with Grays at the W/E. We have now gone from not scoring to defensive mistakes allowing teams back into the game and now it is the goal scorers in this case Duff getting us out of trouble. It can't go on, things have got to change for the better soon. Good Luck Moss
January 22, 200719 yr Author A quick question to liven up the thread. Which famous player was preparing to play his last game 20 years ago today. Answers on a postcard please. Good Luck Moss
January 23, 200719 yr A quick question to liven up the thread.Which famous player was preparing to play his last game 20 years ago today. Answers on a postcard please. If so January 1987 hmm...I will put my thinking cap on Let me know mate..I may surprise you !

O.K TP, He was moving on to bigger things, and the transfer fee 750,000 GBP! Good Luck Moss PS All answers so far are incorrect.
January 23, 200719 yr Ah well now we know that it was not a retirement jobbie..which I thiught it was I would say Ray Houghton going to Liverpool...but it could also have been John Aldridge going to the same place Definatley one of those two Do I win a prize.? Not a season ticket to the Kasasam..with the second prize being TWO season tickets !!!! Only joking...the only time I have been there was as a guest of Darbys Solicitors to see Tommy Docherty give one of his football stories....could hardly understand a word he said !!!
January 24, 200719 yr That figure sounds like John Aldridge's price tag, so I think it must be him. Off to Liverpool...
January 24, 200719 yr That figure sounds like John Aldridge's price tag, so I think it must be him. Off to Liverpool... yes you are correct...but I said his name first so I win nah -nah -nah -nah -nah
January 24, 200719 yr Author Lost 1-0 last night. What is going on!!!!!!??????!!!!!!! I have no idea!! Their results from the last 10 games bear no relationship at all to the first 18, and that is just in the conference, if you take into account the FACup and Trophy, well it is hard to understand. BTW, yes it was JA, but as my rules specifically stated that answers were to be on a postcard, niether of you win Good Luck Moss Edited January 24, 200719 yr by Mossfinn
January 27, 200719 yr I know this an Oxford thread and from my name I guess you know who I support. All rivalries aside good to hear the normal banter of the lower leagues, all Premiership over here gets too much sometimes. Good luck to this year and hope you get up, being totally selfish hope we dont see you as hoping for promotion too.
January 27, 200719 yr Author With the danger of incurring the wrath of the other Oxford boys, welcome to the friendly thread. Oxford v Swindon was the only football game I took my wife to see at the old Manor. Good Luck Moss
January 29, 200719 yr Author Home tonight V Rushden, trying to catch up the 9 point deficit on the Dags. A must win as stated by Jim Smith. I don't think anyone will disagree. Good luck Moss
January 29, 200719 yr Sorry to see another defeat. The heat is really on now..what a collapse!..nine points clear ..now nine points off the pace. Looks like its gonna be the play-offs...cant see the leaders giving up that sort of lead...you would have to go back 10 years to the Man United- Newcastle run-in to see anything vaugly similar. But good luck anyway...you never know. TP
January 30, 200719 yr Author I had to give up even listening at half time, it was truly awful. Don't count on the play offs at this rate, the pack are closing fast, many team just off the pace of the play-off four. Good Luck Moss
