Pattaya bus station to hotel?

alt

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

We're staying in The Golden Ville

215/55 Moo 10, Pattaya 2nd Rd.

We arrive to pattaya bus station. I assume there will be taxis only eating to puck people up.

What's the situation in pattaya... Metered taxi or agree on price?

What would be a fair price?

Thanks all

Sorry that meant to say 'waiting to pick people up' damn autocorrect

We will be arriving to north road bus station, coming from the bus that pucks up on Sukhumvit rd.

2 of us. Cheers

Good thing it's not a budget holiday otherwise might be really tough.

Fair price is what driver tells you , otherwise you walk.

To make you feel better you will pay more for your taxi ride than you paid for the bus ride

Your hotel seems to be near the Marriot and the Royal Twins. You can negotiate with a bahtbus near the bus stop to take you all the way. 100B should do it easily, less if you are good at it.

If you dont have too much luggage you could take the regular bahtbus down North Rd, from where it may take you all the way along Beach Road to the Royal Garden Mall. That would be 10B each, or 2 * 10B each if you have to get out at the Dolphin roundabout and take another regular bahtbus along Beach Rd. Not very nice if you have large luggage though.

If you have a smartphone you could try the GrabTaxi app. Those who take taxis here (I am not one of them) seem to be saying that this is one way (the only way?) to get the driver to use the meter. There is a small supplement for the GrabTaxi service itself. I think it's 40B.

Just hope that the drivers dont tell you to puck off. smile.png

Looks like we'll get a baht bus from station to roundabout and then another one that will bring us down beach rd and then around to pattaya rd 2 and drop off right outside hotel.

The one you get at the bus station may go along Beach Road anyway.

Not all bahtbuses going along Beach Rd will necessarily do a u-turn and go back along 2nd Road, though many will.

You can just get out on Beach Road at the Royal Garden Mall and walk through the mall. This brings you out right opposite your hotel and it's no distance.

The Baht buses won't rip you off. it's a fixed price of perhaps 20 baht(can't remember how much now) to get to Royal Garden. You just get on the Baht bus with everyone else.

That's right. Unless everything has changed, it is still 20 baht. There are a number of baht buses lined up. Depending on where you want to go determines which baht bus they direct you to and the driver works out a route. Don't necessarily expect door-to-door but the road outside will do. Excellent value and a rather magical way to come into Pattaya on your first trip particularly if it is night time.

Bahtbus at the bus station wanted 50 baht each to bring us to beach rd.

We wanted to stretch after the bus ride so we walked to the roundabout and flagged one there... 10 baht each.

Hopped off at royal plaza and walked through thanks for the tip
