Visa Rules - confused

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a girlfriend from Germany who traveled to Thailand from the 25.11.2014 to 23.12.2014 , she arrived by airplane so she get the touristvisa for 30days - then she traveled to Cambodia for 5 Days, after that she traveled from cambodia to Jakarta where she now stayed. (02.01.2015) Now she get sick in Jakarta and she want to come back to Thailand because of the better medical care here.

Is it possible for her to flying back to Thailand, because she only left Thailand for 9days,?.

When she arrived by airplane, will she get another 30days? A new Toursitvisa?

Or must she extend her old touristvisa ?

Sorry I'm a little bit confused about the Visa Rules.

Thank you all!

She doesn't have a tourist visa - she comes under 'Visa Not Required' and receives an entry for 30 days.

When she returns from Jakarta she will get another 30 days.

It seems she got a 30 day visa exempt entry (it is not a tourist visa) before.

She will have no problem entering the country and getting another 30 day visa exempt entry.

There is minimum time to be out of the country other than leaving and immediately returning.

Also called visa on arrival. Does your friend have a travel insurance?

A visa on arrival is only for 15 days and costs 1000 baht and is only available for those from certain countries.

Visa on Arrival is something totally different.

Visa exempt is the GF's status.

No. A visa on arrival is not the same as a visa exempt entry. The VOA is only available to certain nationalities and is in fact a visa given on application at the airport after arriving but before passing through immigrations. Visa Exempt Entries, as the name implies, allows the traveller to get a 15 or 30 day permission to stay without a visa.

Travel insurance isn't required to enter the country.
