Two senior CSD officers escorted to court for detention request

BANGKOK: -- Phaholyothin station police today escorted two Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police officers to the Criminal Court for permission to detain them for 12 days.

The two officers, Pol Col Watcharapol Thongluan, former superintendent of CSD’s 5th Sub-division, and Pol Maj Chakkaphan Leelenantawong, a former CSD inspector, are accused of bribe taking from an online soccer betting operator, and were also having connection with the bribery gang operated by the former Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) commissioner Pol Lt-Gen Pongpat Chayaphan.

The two officers turned themselves in to the Phaholyothin police Sunday night.

Both denied the bribe taking charge, and also denied having any connection with the former CIB commissioner’s gang.

The motivation of those pushing for prosecution is irrelevant if the charges are accurate - and that will be decided in court.

Isn't it better that the criminals from one side of politics are prosecuted rather than none? The answer is probably not, if you are prepared to ignore the criminality of those on YOUR side of politics, which seems to be the case with Thaksinophiles.

If they are guilty as charged, what's your problem ?.

Do you think they are OK to do these crimes because other people do it too ?. A very typical red-shirt excuse which holds no water at all.
