WORK PERMIT - Reference Letter

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,

I'm new here and I have a question for people who have work permit.

I'm currently talking to a company based in Thailand and they ask me reference letter over 5 years. They said it's a work permit requierement.

Can you confirm it ?

I think it's a bit strange, that means someone with only 1 or 2 years of work experience would not be able to work in Thailand and get a Work permit. As there's a lot of scam, i'm a bit suspicious.

Btw, I'm european.

Thank you very much for your help.

Ronald

I believe that on the application form they do ask about your work history. Of course if you have a work history of only 2 years you only give 2 years of history. It is not a requirement that you must have 5 years of work history.

Of we could add if the job description the company has/will provide to the DOL states 5 years experience then this is what the DOL will be expecting to see and may not grant the WP to person who has only 2 years

When I started working in Thailand I had to show a minimum of 10 years in a similar position

So although there is no regulation, the DOL assesses the suitability of person to a large degree based on the job description given to them by the company

The OP maybe misunderstanding what is being asked for
