Planning to get a triple entry tourist visa in Germany in February. The embassy webpage info is a bit unclear concerning passport validity:

"Visa applications can only be processed, if the following documents are submitted completely:

1. Original passport, valid at least for 6 months / 18 month upon arrival in Thailand."

For a tourist visa is it 6 or 18 months? Upon arrival of the last entry of the triple entry visa?

That is indeed unclear, but probably 6 months or a year for a triple. However that is an embassy requirement.

Immigration will only require that your passport is valid for the intended duration of stay.

The 18 month requirement is for getting a multiple entry non immigrant visa.

For a tourist visa it is 6 months.
