January 8, 201511 yr Hello, last week the last 7 days of my trip i got a car accident and 2 broken legs, well now i will have a forced overstay of 1-2 months here is my question: i moved to a friends condo today but the landlord said he need a copy of my passport for the immigration ( he took ony the first page name etc) so he need as any hotel to report that i stay there to the immigration ... will the immigration check when i entred or is this just so they know who stay where ? kind regards
January 8, 201511 yr There is no forced overstay because you could of gotten an extension for medical treatment. I don't think immigration will come chasing you down for the overstay. The report is just to inform them of your presence at an address.
January 8, 201511 yr Author thanks for the reply.. my concern is mostly if they check if i have a valid visa or not once the landlord send in the paper
January 8, 201511 yr If you are only on a few days of overstay immigration may still grant you an extension for medical treatment after you pay the overstay fine of 500 baht a day. As I said immigration immigration does not check the reports from home owners that close to where immigration would come looking for you.
January 8, 201511 yr Author if the immigration does not check the from, why is it needed thst my landlord report i stay there.? sorry my english is nit the best... so basicly he sends the report to the im,igration that i say in his house but the immigration does not check when i entred to thailand is that right?
January 8, 201511 yr The report is more a formality than anything else. If they wanted to find you they might use it but they don't have the manpower to chase everybody that is on few days of overstay.
January 8, 201511 yr Author hmmm... thank you the quick replys just a final question if possible i will be only in 3 days on overstay as i said before , so in for example 1 week will the be some automatic warning telling them mr xy is now xx days to long in tjailand? kind regards
