Muslim man hailed for life-saving courage during Paris siege

Featured Replies

It's the radicals and their grotesque interpretations of the Koran that are more to blame than the religion itself surely.

The problem is not about interpretation. They are reading it literally. The moderate Muslims just ignore the nasty parts and do the right thing.

So cherry picking the quran makes them infidels? Where does it start and stop? If a muslim thinks same sex activity is OK, but sex with animals is not OK, but advocated by the prophet, provided the perpetrator doesn't consume the meat after slaughtering the animal as he is required to do (OK to sell it to his neighbor though!!), he's being selective about what he chooses to believe, and probably makes him an infidel?

  • A very good man and real example to the rest of us. I'm sure there are lots more like him in the Muslim community, but their voices are drowned out by the violent scumbags.

  • Wow. Your glass is just plain empty.

  • Thats the kind of attitude that keeps the haters hating.

It's the radicals and their grotesque interpretations of the Koran that are more to blame than the religion itself surely. Which once again comes back to people.

So why can't the vast numbers of peaceful Muslims spend their time teaching the radical murderers the error of their ways? and teach them that everything in the Koran should not be followed verbatum???

Not at all, but the the perpetrators of such atrocities still represent a minority. Hate terrorists, for they are sullying the faith. Don't tar everyone with the same brush

OK, so when was the last occasion that any of us remember when a Jew, Christian, Hindu, or any religion other than muslim, massacred people IN THE NAME OF RELIGION. I don't recall any, though plenty of crazies did kill people. Charlie's cartoons may have been offensive to members of the religions portrayed, but only those from one religion reacted violently.

The 'religion of permanent offence' is also the religion of permanent intolerance, and has a propensity for unspeakable violence.

The irony of the argument is that posters pat Christianity on the back for its 'evolution'.

Part of this evolution in Christianity is the focus on compassion and forgiveness, especially if you are catholic.

The compassion part should perhaps be applied when not tarring muslims with the same brush. The forgiveness thing on the perps, is somewhat harder, no doubt.

But do the mob want here? Nothing but Old Testament....no different to where these guys get their inspiration.

A human reaction I guess, but I'm just pointing out the irony.

Update: The HERO of the Paris Kosher supermarket terrorist attack, Lassana Bathily, has been rewarded with FRENCH CITIZENSHIP! clap2.gif

“I heard shots and I saw my colleagues and clients running down,” Bathily recalled later. “I told them ‘Come, come,’ (and) got them into the freezer.”

Bathily proposed helping the hiding clients escape the supermarket through its delivery lift. But when no one wanted to take that risk, Bathily fled alone, flagged down the police, and provided them information on the layout of the store that was vital to the assault that ended the siege.

He was applying for French citizenship, his application has been accepted and there will be a ceremony
