The British working-class people are getting now very upset and disturbed at the increased new payments of the football players of the English Premier League.

Some of the top players are being paid in the region of 250,000 GBP per week x 52 is 13 Millions a year, some get even more payments.

The average weekly payment of the working class people is 500 GBP per week x 52 is 26,000 a year thus the football players earn in a week 12,974.000 more than the general British working class.

The EPL footballer's weekly payment is regarded by the public as a silly matter.

Strange post, strange place to post it and very old news......I wish United had Ronaldo and Messi plus a few others at whatever money they wanted as i there payments will not bother me.

It is definitely not regarded as silly by the British public a tad of jealousy in an open market maybe but where this thread will end up if it is not closed is probably better served in the footie forum i think...don't you?

The wages for the players whilst ridiculous, doesn't come out of the taxpayers pocket + they pay tax on it, so what's the problem?

I suppose the anger is because match tickets are so high that it prohibits a man taking his kids along etc.

Go see a lower league team. Cheaper to get in, better football plus Bovril, Burgers and Pies are still achievable. Up the O's.

PS You don't want to pay an exorbitant entry fee to see Man U, they didn't even have a shot at goal in their last match, so this would make a person angry, wouldn't it Mr Red? biggrin.png

There's nothing new about this. It goes back at least to the beginning of the Premier League or Sky TV. There's also natural resentment at how much it costs to get in and sit in an all seater stadium with no atmosphere. It's all down to capitalism and supply and demand.
