KMITL ex-rector to be questioned on assets
The Sunday Nation

BANGKOK: -- Police will soon summon Thawil Phuengma, former rector of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Lat Krabang (KMITL), to explain how he had amassed Bt86 million in assets, which he had declared to the National Anti-Corruption Commission last year, an informed source has said.

Thawil and the institution's former vice rector Sappasit Limnorarat had earlier this month told police they were not involved in the embezzlement of Bt1.5 billion from KMITL bank accounts.

Police have scheduled 29 individuals to provide information from tomorrow until January 27 over allegation money was siphoned into their bank accounts.

Crime Suppression Division deputy chief Pol Colonel Nos Sawetlek said some of the individuals had come forward to claim they had made their money from gambling.

He said police would this week interview representatives from two commercial banks over one suspect - former bank manager Songklod Sriprasong - to get details about his employment and to determine if there were any irregularities.

Police were working to identify the "boss" of the embezzlement, a person who suspect Pada Buakhao claimed was the key figure in the crime and for whom fugitive suspect Kittisak Matujad had worked, he said.

The ex-rector will be summoned for interview SOON and 29 others over a 10 day period.

A major case yet absolutely no urgency, as usual !

OR....

The ex-rector will be summoned, along with the other naughty boys and asked to drop by their office sometime in the next month for a chat and a few drinks.

Urgency suggests it is important, which it really isn't

A more important question would be how this university could amass THB 1.5 billion?
