For new farang in LOS - The other 95% of Thai Women...a short story

Possible qualifications to allow me to write this include being married to a (wonderful) Thai woman, having a very adventurous life in Thailand before I met her, and spending some years in the country. I also read about 10 books about Thai women.. things like "Thai Fever"..

My wife Aiew told me that when she came to Canada 5 years ago, she was quite shocked to see nude Caucasian and Asian women in the Ladies change room at the local swimming pool, prancing around as if there was nothing wrong... Thai women are very modest you see, and are masters at changing whilst having a towel wrapped around them.

Did you realize that out of the huge pool of available Thai women, legions of excellent quality ones, like 95%.. are NOT on the take - they will take good care of you though, and make you very happy for the rest of your life.

It sometimes requires on-the-ground experience though, to cut through the onion-layers of the mirage, and lessen potential grief for yourself..

If you want to meet a wonderful Thai lady for a long-term relationship and marriage - fly at it, but consider doing your homework first! After all, you are your own best self-advocate, so it behooves you to do a little research of your own, before you embark on one of the most exciting adventures of your life - discovering the bliss of a great relationship with a traditional Thai woman..

Like walking on top of an iceberg, you'll only scratch the surface when you go to Thailand half-cocked. Inherent dangers lay in wait, just under the surface - for the unwary, foolish and foolhardy foreigner in Thailand. There are way more good women in Thailand than bad, but a disproportionate amount of guys go for the 'bad' girls, just like they may have done in their home countries. Buying sex without love work for some forever, but most want to settle down with what they perceive is a good Thai woman...

I've experienced the butterfly life, which amounts to having paid sex with different Thai woman pretty much every day of the week - and I've been also been on the other side - as a faithful husband to my Thai wife. I've gone full circle..as have many, many other expats on Thai Visa..

Let's face it - many western men (farang) find Thai women attractive, and why not? If you're still reading, you probably agree, LOL. By and large, Thailand missed the Women's Liberation movement of the 1960's. Not a bummer.. That fact is no slight on western women, but it renders the Thai woman a bit different by default. Born into a system of family-first, Thai women are brought up to be jai dee (good hearted), naturally happy and good-natured. They are imbued with a superior work ethic, and generally like their man to be the 'leader' in a marriage. It also doesn't hurt that Thai women are known around the world as being some of the most attractive women on the planet...

However, if you think for one minute that a Thai-farang, inter-racial, inter-cultural marriage is made in heaven by default - please reconsider. It takes plenty of work, so roll up your sleeves. Ultimately, you'll make the relationship what it is by dint of your behaviors and attitudes. With the mistakes I made, I cannot imagine a better situation these last eight years, since I met her in Bangkok. In Thailand, almost any western man has the capability to find a superior, beautiful Thai woman inside and out - if he acts accordingly and makes good choices..like avoiding getting muntered on a daily basis..

For us farang - being married to a good Thai lady is like being a parent - it comes with huge rewards and challenges. Let's get that straight right off the bat, so the reader won't get the idea that eternal bliss lies within their grasp - it doesn't. You'll have the time of your life though, with many existentially rewarding and troublesome events, just like every marriage that ever existed.

Thai women are very traditional in the sense that they want the man to be the leader in the arrangement. As the leader in the partnership, it doesn't mean the man should take advantage of his exalted position - in fact he does so at his 'peril.' The proactive man will quickly realize he's got it very good, and will endeavor to nurture the relationship - and yes - even help her and her family with money as needed. You'll discover how to screen out the 'undesirables' - and find a fantastic Thai partner for life.

I put undesirables in quotations - because very few Thai women are horrible people (they are out there though - in small numbers). You see, when you date a few (or many) Thai women in the process of discovering your ultimate partner, you'll quickly find that you have empathy for most of them at the core - because you care about people, right? Your journey will be almost as rewarding as the destination, which may be marriage - and a very happy life with an A-grade, generally highly sexual (compared to western standards) Thai lady. Or it may be you just want to sow your wild oats in Thailand - and if the right Thai women comes along..

My Thai wife has a Chinese background (incoming... ), not her fault...blame her over-sexed father..so we had a lot of traditional Chinese activities at our wedding. Some Thai expats scoff at the notion of Thai-Chinese wives, as they consider it much more of a rarity than it really is. No matter the location or religion of the individual, there are fantastic Thai women in all corners of the country, bar none.

If you're the type of farang that wants to quit the butterfly scene and settle down with one good woman, there are literally thousands of Thai women that would suit your ultimate emotional, social and physical needs - and once you find one of them you'll probably stop at practically nothing to gain her favor! The number one rule is - once you meet her in person, you should probably stop playing the field..

She may (many quality Thai women will insist on this - as it is a BIG trump car) ask you to hold off on sex until marriage, but don't panic - you'll already know she wants you from her actions. She'll probably tell you to go see a 'short time' bar-girl in the interim. to relieve inherent sexual tension, because she'll assume BY DEFAULT that as farang - we cannot hold off on sex, even for a little while. Right or wrong, this is how she's been taught in her culture. Sometimes you can make that work in your favor..

In conclusion, beware the 5% of bad girls..for like a passion fruit vine, they will take the host (the deluded farang), envelop him, chew him up, and spit him out... NEXT!

I'ts just a counterpoint - for the approximately 25-50% of new farang that seek out relationships with the 5% - by default, or osmosis, or lack of knowledge..

Taking the path of least resistance sometimes isn't the best path..you may end up with a psychopath..

Are we talking about getting a teenage bride here? If not, there's no way the woman in question--at least 99.9% of the time--is a virgin. So why would she suddenly be too 'good' to have sex, especially with a man she sees as her future life partner?

I'd liken such behavior to a giant red flag--that she's playing the long game with you.

What an utterly bizarre assertion. Thai women have the reputation for being some of the most jealous women in world. Even Thai prostitutes don't like it if you go with other prostitutes. Yet a woman who supposedly loves you is going to encourage you to go with other women?? As if she wouldn't lose face over it? Again, any woman, Thai or otherwise, who suggests such a thing is probably repulsed by you physically and is holding out as long as she can before having to do the deed.

As a western man, I wouldn't consider a Thai woman who thought like this one of the good ones. Who wants to deal with a brain dead robot who a.) can't see that we're people like anyone else, and each come with our own personality, to say nothing of our own individual sex drive; and b.) a woman so brainwashed by Thai conservativism that she doesn't realize the above is a rather apt description for any number of Thai men.

Ok..my wife is thai Chinese....we agreed early on that we are equal partners, though she does like to tell me I'm head of family when she's trying to make a point that I won't make a decent decision. Other than that we have a good partnership. She also can't cook so I am the family cook but she makes up for it by keeping the house clean.

OPs talk about pre marital sex must be his experience but it isn't mine.

Not seen American women doing that sort of thing.

Whenever I get a Thai women in my room, naked within 5 minutes.

Never got an American women naked in anything near that time.

A lot of Thai women don't go for pre marital sex, but try to find a guy on here that was subjected to ( or will admit ) that sort of abuse.. I admit I'm in that camp , when your bride-to-be says you can go for a short timer in lieu, as she sure as hellll told me -- only years later do you find out she didn't really mean it..

I've probably been with some of the same gals. ..on Walking street, Bangla Road, Patpong..Ko Samui, Chiang Mai..even Chiang Rai.. but those girls don't stick around long, correct me if I'm wrong. "Shockingly," many of the other 95% also drop their drawers right away, I'm cognizant...the staples..

There are only two things to avoid with Thai women for a happy relationship, bar girls and gold diggers. All others should work out fine. If either one of the above fit the girl you are dating drop her and find one who does not. Your chances for happiness will be greater and your back account will be healthier. There are exceptions but .....

Just kidding. Not a bad piece. But I think you're underestimating how much of this 95% are willing to date foreigners. Or are really single. I've met some pretty classy women that we're playing around on their husbands... Also, it seems like many of the women that are willing to date foreigners are generally seen as undesirable, at least by Thais. Thai guys always ask me why so many foreigners choose to date unattractive Thai women. I'd say most of the guys that date that 5% do it b/c those girls come easily. Which is fine. I mean, unless you're obsessed with having a Thai gf/wife that fits the stereotype you described, then what's the point of putting so much effort into meeting a girl. Relationships should happen naturally, shouldn't they?

You may write the book about Thailand I have in mind..but I cannot write because my English is very bad.

We had and have the same experience in Thailand, married with a beautiful and wonderful woman after dating like craze for 3 years....even not going to a bar even once, even with a lot less energy than in my 40s....and with not so updated shape and seducing skills.

Why come to Thailand to get involved with easy Thai women dressing and acting like Westerners just to get one easy "farang" for a "ride"?
