falang07
I have a single entry non-O visa based on marriage to my Thai wife and it will expire in February. 1. Can I go to the immigration and ask for the yearly extension in the last week of my visa validity? So if my visa is valid from 20 November till 19 February, can I go and extend it as late as on February 18th? 2. I suppose I should get additional temporary 30 days during which my extension would be evaluated and then, after these temporary 30 days are over, I would get a full year, am I right? Or are these 30 days included in the 1 year extension already? Edited January 19, 2015 by falang07
Lite Beer
You can apply anytime during the final 30 days of your current stay. Don't leave it until the last day as there is bound to be some document you have forgotten. You will get 12 months from the end of your current stay.
ubonjoe
1. You can for the extension of stay up to the last day or your permit to stay date. It would be best to do it at least a couple of weeks early in case you need additional paperwork. 2. You will get an under consideration stamp with a report back date 30 days after the date you apply or 30 days from your permit to stay date dependent upon the office you go to. The extension starts from the date you permit to stay ends.
