Back-to-back visa exemptions?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I got my first Visa exemption during original stay in Thailand: Nov 14 - Nov 27.

I re-entered the country on Dec 13 on a visa exemption which I then renewed. I must exit on Feb 10.

However, my flight back to Europe is from Bangkok on Feb 27. I am planning on going Chiang Mai - Laos, then re-entering either by boat or flight from Luang Prabang. Since it's such a short stay, I'd like to get another visa exemption.

Will I be presented with any issues for this? As I understand it, I have 90 days visa exempt in total over a 6-month period. I will be staying in Luang Prabang a few days, so I will be just under the 90-day total. My concern is the near back-to-back nature of my entries.

I'd really appreciate any input, hopefully it is not something I need to worry about.

There is no 90 days in 6 months rule. That was rescinded over 6 years ago.

How did you renew your entry? Did you leave the country for a new entry or get an extension at immigration?

If you left the country and got a new entry you can apply for a 30 day extension at immigration.

If you are going to be out of the country for a few days you should not have a problem getting another entry.
