on valid non-imm O visa, 90 day ends, can't travel...

Recommended Posts

Hi...

My wife is on non-immigrant O one year visa (expires March 2015). She entered the country on Nov 17 so passport stamp says she has to leave before Feb 17.

She is 8 month pregnant and can't travel.

So obviously we need to do whatever extension we need to do here in Bangkok.

The agent we use saying we need to report staying over 90 days and that's fine.

But they are also saying we need to extend "exit visa" that expires on Feb 17, as per border immigration stamp. That is a bit more complicated procedure that requires more paperwork and showing in person, according to the agent.

And that that has nothing to do with non-immigrant O visa that we will have to extend in March.

Can someone pleas confirm that both report on 90 days period and "exit visa" extension is needed?

Thanks

She has to leave the country to get another entry from her visa. Doing a 90 day report does not give any additional time and is only a report of staying over 90 days.

She could get an extension of stay for up to 90 days for medical treatment due to her inability to travel because of being pregnant. It will require a letter from a doctor stating she cannot travel.
