WHO chooses Thailand as a center for rehabilitation of the disabled in Southeast Asia.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has selected Thailand as a center for rehabilitation of the disabled in Southeast Asia.

Caretaker Public Health Minister Pinit Charusombat (พินิจ จารุสมบัติ) said the Sirindhorn (สิรินธร) National Medical Rehabilitation Center will help provide training on rehabilitation of disabled people for countries in the region.

The center has been able to procure aiding tools for 80% of the disabled in the country, Mr. Pinit said.

He said about 450,000 disabled have registered for state assistance during the past 10 years.
