Saturday was the first time I've seen Vertoghen play. I really didn't like the way he tries to catch players with his legs by falling over and throwing his legs over his head. Looked vindictive to me.

What !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he's not a fuc_king gymnast 24.gif and i bet he's going to be really concerned by your ideas of his strange body movements 40.gif

At least we agree he has strange body movements.

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif . Gentlemen, this from rijiit must be considered post of the year

I sometimes choose text speech through being bone idle and yeah i know it irritates which sometimes appeals 2 my perverse sense of humour and for sure I sling in the odd colloquialism in a vain attempt to add a touch of authenticity, But Jacky if you've got mental health issues then I fully fully understand, but if not. your posts longer than one sentence are mystifyingly obtuse dribbling <deleted> that consistently fail clearly to get your point across and make you not in a position 2 criticise.

yeah the other option would have been danny rose but of coarse he's gone on loan. i didnt like caulker playing alongside gallas

caulker kept on pushing over and pullin gallas with him hence galla's bizare clearances ect ect, one would hope that has got sorted

out.but i wouldnt hod your breath tbh i would prefer dawson in to gallas but i dont suppose its gonna happen

Lioris GK

Walker RB

Naughton at LB

Verty back at CB with Caulker

Townsend at LW

Hudd & Sandro CM

Lennon RW

Sig & Defoe

Looks a better balance already.

yep, and i thought the thai players went over/down easily.

Cant say i was particularly entertained with the way we played seemed to lack spark and offered no real threat going 4 ward as smokes said Defoe looks lost . loads of possession, so vbs stats will look ok but barring the goal and the verity shot , correct me if i'm wrong we didnt exactly threaten goal in the second half. Dempsey and siggy are taking their time to settle as one would expect when a player steps up a level.Agree verity proves yet again, he's quality, though i'm not 100% convinced by caulker. Walker just aint the threat he was going 4 ward last season and thought that naughton 2nite looked like a r/bac playing as a lb and Lloris, had his hand in the appalling defending that culminated in them scoring but barring that did nothing wrong but lets be honest he wasnt exactly stretched. Freda's still no 1 for me. Overall a point tbh wasnt good enuf.lets see what happens when we get bale dembele and parker bac they WILL make a difference to the team and a fit adeboy will help and the running with 2 strikers 4 me AINT WORKIN time 2 shut the fuc up b4 i hit a rant !!!!!!!!

Piss poor first half, better in the second. Sandro, Vertoghen and Caulker standouts. Walker suspect again. Falque looked pacey and has v good potential too.

Very tough on Freidal but Lloris simply has to start from now on. You cannot lose the future by holding onto the past and we need some continuity with the back five.

TBH i'm far more concerned with the injury status of Ade and Dembele! With Parker and Kaboul out until next year we can't afford anymore key players crocked

Looking at players I would say are class....Vertonghen....Caulker will be in time.....Parker....Sandro.....Dembele.....Bale.....Adebayor.

Lennon one week in four can be added to the list but replaceable. Walker seems to have hit a brick wall.....

There's plenty of space for improvement there!

Edit: Forgot to add Kaboul to the list. Sorry Younes! biggrin.png

I was expecting Parker to be back by now, has he had a set back from the achilles operation?

Another thing that comes to mind is that from the regular starters of last season's team we only

have Freidal, Lennon, Walker and Bale starting this season, all the others playing this season were

either bit part players or new arrivals.

Thats over half the team that are new to playing together! which really explains the inconsistency.

A touch idealistic carms' and 2 a degree vb lost his job at the chavs applying that, I wonder if he'll be in a hurry to apply that train of thought again?. The future in football as any pragmatic football fan well knows goes from one Saturday to the next, that.s a slight exaggeration, but say we were to lose 7 games on the trot and dropped down the league you honestly think vb would survive ? and you keep saying give Lloris the shirt why? you think on the showings so far he's shown enuf to warrant it?, cant see it myself, arguably he's made mistakes in every game so far, and he played his part in the goal last night.it could be argued he got drwn to early and gave the guy virtually a clear goal, and you want to risk that in the prem? Hmmmmmm!!!! better 4 wards would be over him like a rash. imo if vb's got any sense and lets hope he has, he'll stick by the tried and tested 4 the prem there are enuf cup games ect ect in the season to keep Llorris sharp and if he really is as good as suggested he will soon prove his worth and EARN THE SHIRT, and PROVE he's the future.

yep and this 2 striker policy with adeboy being injured has shown it's folly, cant srgue with defoes goal return, but we would be more effective with striking options time to buy a striker me thinks.

No he doesn't, imo ofcourse. Vertoghen may be a specialist cb but he's also a better left back than BAE which has conclusively been shown this season. Spurs at full strength will have to accomodate caulker, Kaboul and Vertoghen at the back. No doubt at all about that. Walker though might have a fight on his hands with Naughton who's a better defender but not as good going forward

I'm not anti BAE but i do think he gives possession away far too often and that won't endear him to our new coach

Regards the keeper situation, you are ofcourse entitled your opinions but you are being very harsh on Lloris and at the end of the day you are wrong. This change has to happen so we can build a better understanding among the back five.

Am i being harsh on Llorris, no harsher than you are on freda, Llorris has made the mistakes no one else, and lets see fans be so dismisive if and when freda makes amistake, which he aint for getting on for a season and a half. and in YOUR OPINION i'm wrong, but why? all i get from you is 'he's the future' he may well be, but surely it's better that he earns it rather than just give it to him ? but from what ive seen he aint shown enuf to get the shirt t or am i watching different games than you?

. I agree verity is a great player, and seems equally at home at l/b as he does at c/b, tbh i'm not a fan of players constantly swapping from ful bac's to c/b's TOTALLY different physical demands and from what ive seen leads to players who swap become constantly injured, aka brown oshea, agree with asssoe boy losing poses ion a little easily but generaly he rectify's it and with verity next to him it would/couldnt it be a formidibal unit? , defo with last seasons form alongside kaboul, But 4 kaboul to keep his relatively recently acquired -form up,aka an interrupted pre season and out for the best part of half a season makes it a big ask.

And although i'm sure caulker will be a fixture in the not so distant future, is he ready for a consistent starting spot now? it's one thing doing it for a game another doing it for a season, young players need gently gently and benefit from it although I can see where you coming from regarding consistency with the europa lge, fa and lge cups its v v hard and probably unrealistic 2 expect players to play in every game all in all not a terrible conundrum, barring the injuries, for vb to have.

lets just be hoping for 3 points at the weekend.

I remember in Milan thinking BAE was out of his depth defensively......and watching him regularly his distribution forward is often poor.

What I've seen of Vertonghen is different class so far......I would say he is one of our best players easily. If we can afford to play him LB then I am delighted!

you went to milan, must have been a great game to go to?

Not so sure about asseo boy being out of his depth smokes, cant recall him having a particularly bad game, even so one game dont make a career, admittedly he sometimes can be sloppy and gives the ball away easily but ALWAYS seems to be able to recover and hasn't so far been embarrassed unlike the boy on the other side, Agreed verity's arguably been our stand out performer and if he ends up as l/b so be it, but at the mo he's also our best lhs c/b and 4 the last 2? seasons asseo boys done a good enuf job so him playin alongside verity seems to me 2 be our best/strongest option down the lhs, but at the end of the day who the fuc knows, lets just hope vb gets it right and hopefully our form will improve.

I'm not singling him out rij.....its simply that watching Vertonghen doing the same job is night and day mate....that's all...

Yeah i'm not disagreeing smokes but he's our best lhs c/b as well, so its a conundrum .where the fuc do you play our

stand out defender?.if assoe boys fit seems only sensible to give him a run, get him match fit.

And could it be the time to give naught on a run at r/b.or let walker try play his poor form through
