all pervasive stink in bkk

Featured Replies

any one know what it is? has it something to do with the ball shrinking or is that from a different source? if so what is the pervasive stink chemical for? it is not a natural chemical and can be smelled in your piss

Your nose is too close to your arse.

no read it again it is not a natural chemical. not the usual drain stink either.

Don't think I understand the original post- what ball shrinking..? I'm presuming you don't mean testicle. But then you say you can smell the chemical in your urine.

I mean... I haven't noticed a chemical smell everywhere in Bangkok recently if that helps, but I doubt it does.

strange that i cant get any confirmation on this. i've smelt it as far apart as outside of chaeng wattana immigraton to/and mrt hua lampong just to mention 2. some days its so strong it burns the nostrils and sometimes even causes pain in the lungs.

I have identified the source - a brief encounter with pollution free air. Too me awhile to get used to it as well.

I can't smell anything like that. Maybe it's you?

What does the "ball shrinking" in your original post mean..?

search it here on tv

And that specific phrase brings up one result. This topic.

So... not sure how that's meant to explain anything.

While I have no clue what "pervasive stink" the OP is referring to, it's interesting that just about our entire office, and half the folks walking through our building in the morning (thousands of them) seem to have a lingering cough.

Your nose is too close to your arse.

Stop it, please...I'm going to have a heart attack!

I've been here for so many years I cannot remember when an all pervasive stink did not exist. It's everywhere. Sewerage smells in particular reek in the most populated shopping areas in Bangkok and tourist high spots everywhere and always at night it's worse than any other time of day.. Recently my 16 year old Thai daughter visiting from school in Australia commented on the horrific odours wafting around Soi Bangla in Patong. Holy S*#@t daddy, what's that awful smell, she said. I said jokingly, oh that's Chanel or Boss. No Dad that's <deleted>.

Chemicals!

Chemicals in your food, and in your environment are doing a number on your testicles.

Household cleaners, paints, solvents, diesel fumes, gas fumes, perfume, shampoos, the list goes on and on.

These chemicals act as estrogen mimics, and you need to do everything you can to limit your exposure.

We talked about vegetarians a minute ago.

I get to see these sickly people all the time because I shop at their stores.

Not for the food, but for the household cleaners and personal care items.

A huge market for these products has developed, and you can find all the chemical free products you'll ever need at your local Veggies R Us Market.

the chemical cleaner they use to clean in the mrt. i'd say its a junta planned thing. but its not only there.

The smell I notice most is the smell of a wet sponge during monsoon season. At other times, it doesn't seem more than pollution and dust.

Then again, I'm from Los Angeles, so I'm used to the smell of pollution.
