Am I likely to have a problem in Vientianne?

Featured Replies

When I stopped working in Thailand in 2008 I use to travel often to Vientiane to secure a double entry tourist visa so I could stay in the Kingdom. At some point around 2012 the Thai consulate in Vientiane refused to give me any more tourist visa. I probably has three or maybe four when they refused me.

In June 2013 I got a brand new US passport. So far I have two triple entry visas issued in Portland, OR, USA and one double entry visa from Vientiane.

I will have visa issues again in June, 2015 and plan to travel to Vientiane. Given the current status of my passport and the number of tourist visas I already have, can I expect trouble in Vientiane? If yes I may simply return to the US for a month or so. My preference is to delay a trip to the USA until November, 2015.

You can obtain a double entry visa in Vientane or Sannakhet, whichever place you prefer.

You will not have a problem getting another 2 entry tourist visa. They only count the visas issued by them back to back. Normally it is not a problem to get 3 of them back to back.

They may ask you for proof of income, someone reported them asking this.

The only reports of that is when a person has gotten 2 or 3 visas from them and a stamp is put on their visa saying they will need it next time.. The most recent was 4 visas.

Good info as ever guys.. Of use to me also, so thanks
