ramrod711
I checked my I P address today, the site no longer shows Chiang Mai as my home, just says Thailand 3BB and a map with a star near Bangkok. Is this a new development?

ramrod711
Does it really matter as long as your Internet works well? Not really, no, but I always use the website, My I P address to check if my VPN is operating correctly. Prior to this, when I disconnect from the VPN, the website has displayed my Chiang Mai address, now it isn't. Just wondered if there has been a change in policy since the change of government. Thanks to all for their replies.
Chicog
If that particular range is allocated to their head office, that's where it will show it residing. It really doesn't mean anything as long as your internet is working.
WinnieTheKhwai
IP location is not an exact science. If an ISP rearranges some network stuff it can easily show as Bangkok. My office connection shows as Bangkok too. When you use a VPN, proxy and so on then it's still clear as it'll show outside of Thailand.
