How to cancel ED Visa?

Featured Replies

So Ive still got an extension until end of March which is when I want to switch to a double entry tourist Visa. I got my 2nd Ed Visa in October. Do I need an official cancellation letter from the school or any other document or can I just go out of the country? (When I left the country while on my 1st Ed Visa I could just leave no questions asked)

If you leave at Nongkhai you would need the letter and to be there during main office opening hours, see thread of today.

There are no report about Mudhakhan requesting, but it would be better to have it.

Otherwise and especially if leaving by air you don't need it.

You will need a letter to cancel you extension if you leave the country at Nong Khai..

At any other crossing or the airport you will not need it.

This may sound stupid I had previously attended Thai language schools. I have never had to go to Immigration to cancel a visa. I have left the country via Nong Khai when and if I had to, without any letter from any schools, when my educational contract was over, and re-entered on a tourist visa or a new Ed. visa, with the required school paperwork. ( I know I'm special) ...Never had I had to do what is reported here.

You would now.

How long ago was that?

Please understand that is not like since it has not happened to you before, it may not happen to others now. You don't help anybody saying "it never happened to me". Things change.
