BMA campaigns to remove fire dangers
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) spokeswoman Tridao Apaiwong yesterday reported 342 fires occurred in six months in the BMA area(from July to December 2014). Most resulted from electrical short-circuits (62 per cent); unattended lit jossticks and candles (39 per cent); and food left unattended on stoves (28 per cent).

The findings prompted city governor MR Sukhumbhand Paraibatra to urge city residents to be careful of appliance usage and watch out for fire risks in the community. Tridao said the city would contact vocational or private colleges to join a pilot project to repair appliances in a bid to prevent fires in three communities.

Run a public awareness campaign on why all electrical outlets should be grounded. Then make it a law and enforce it.

I guarantee the number of fires resulting from electrical short-circuits will be significantly reduced.
