I'm going to be living in Pattaya this July for 12-18 months and am wondering if there are any good muay thai schools / instructors I should look into. I plan to take it pretty seriously as I will have a lot of free time. I've read on various forums the "gyms" here are scams and the "instructors" just hold up pads and have you hit them and then hit a bag without really teaching anything useful. I'm really not looking to waste my time as I've done that enough here in the USA at bullshit schools.

The two gyms I looked into so far are kombat villiage group and twin tiger. Both have very reasonable 1-1 training rates ( about $12 per lesson ).

Anyone here serious about training and know where I should go or who to talk to?

Golden glory in jomtien. Good teachers and often have sparring sessions which the others rarely do. Is a bit cheaper to.

The rest are foregin gyms and no fighters...
