I am waiting for a parcel to be delivered from the UK. It was posted 2 weeks ago and is insured. The contents are all gifts (for my birthday!)

I was wondering if anyone knew how long things can be stuck in customs for and how often parcels 'went missing' never to be seen again.

When should I really start to worry?

Ok, that's great - as long as there's no immediate panic...

They were sent by registered post from England. Fingers crossed it'll arrive this week.

I have sent a lot of registered parcels from Canada. Some have arrived in as little as 5 days. A few of them took 6 weeks.

The contents are all gifts (for my birthday!)

BTW, was it sent by airmail? No joke, I had it so often, that people mailed me something by normal post which arrived after 2-3 months.

My birthday presents were posted in England in January of this year - I am still waiting for them!!

I have sent a lot of registered parcels from Canada. Some have arrived in as little as 5 days. A few of them took 6 weeks.

Ditto for stuff from USA..

Small registered air mail package from here to LA 16 days
