Pattaya welcomes in Year of the Goat



PATTAYA:--Lions and dragons will dance from morning to night when Pattaya celebrates Chinese New Year Feb. 19.


The day will begin with Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome leading a religious ceremony beginning at 9 a.m. in front of the HM King Taksin monument at city hall.

Thailand Mobile Expo gets underway in Bangkok

The event, which is being held at the Queen Sirikit Convention Centre, is open until Sunday 15th February and is expected to attract in excess of 700,000 visitors.

PM allays concern over double-track railway project

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha Friday played down public concern that the investment cost for the construction of two routes of double-track railway would be too high.


Prayut said the project has not yet been inked with China and it would be monitored by five to six subcommittees. If the cost is too high, the government would abandon the cooperation with China and seek a new partner or bidder.

Next government is bound to carry out reforms or faces punishment
