Popular Post canarysun
Hello Viewers! It's only me...Your lovable Thai Visa friend who has been out and about and " sniffing about " ...... One of my favourite islands on my travels is the delightful and charming island of Koh Sichang which is located just off the coast of Si racha. It is quiet with very few visitors ( mainly Thai ) and although not visited by many farang it can be quite busy at the weekends with " our friends from Bangkok "... This island has " No Bars,No Football and No Riff Raff " ( a welcome change ) and very few cars on the island. It is perfect for a quiet get away and lovely for walking or even a bicycle. It has some fabulous beaches and lots to see and packed with stunning and bright colours everywhere! Coming from Bangkok i would recommend catching the 06.55 train ( Monday to Friday ) at Hua Lampong's Railway station to Si racha and its a nice 30 minute stroll from Si Racha railway station to the main Ferry Port.(The ferries run every hour at a cost of 50 baht ( journey time 45 minutes ) Those of you that fancy staying the night then rooms can be found from as little as 200 baht a night ( rather basic ) but if you are trying to impress your lady with various " Tales from the Kamasutra " then something more luxurious will cost you around 1,200 baht a night ( kind respect to the highest order ladies...) I have attached some photos that i took earlier this week with my Huawei mobile phone...I hope you like them! Happy travelling Viewers! TaaSaparot
Fabulous beaches ? I only remember one, and it was certainly not fabulous. A nice enough day trip from Pattaya, but that's about it.

Popular Post Swiss1960
Thank you, canarysun, for posting your report and the pics. It's what I like in ThaiVisa, posters who show others what could be done in a positive way... no matter whether all agree, but you are giving others new ideas. Great Job

giddyup
Definitely worth a visit. I spent a very pleasant day there a couple of years ago. The beach is fairly isolated from memory, doesn't take long to get there, but had to get a motorcycle with sidecar.

AmericanSafety
Looks like a neat place, just not too touristie. What did you do while you were there?
Chonburiram
30 years ago i was on Kho Tarutao in Satun... it was a dream... 15 years ago, the second island i visited in Thailand, was Kho Sichang... a nightmare, for various reasons... and yes, it is a very dry place. These digital cams are as good as a clarification plant, point it on shít, click, and everything looks great! Anyway, thanks for the contribution, Shower. BIGJIMMY
Went there for a couple of nights a few years ago, some nice sights including loads of monkeys outside our hotel, don't remember fabulous beaches, there was one and it was a dump, remember Buddhas footprint up a hill, he must have been 9 feet tall. You could get a drink in the restaurant. Edited February 13, 2015 by BIGJIMMY
Kaoboi Bebobp
Lovely photos, canarysun. Freshly painted traffic lines and paint-marked speed bumps. Amazing!

chakatee
Koh Si Chang's fabulous beach. B-cVRAsCMAAPLWl.jpg I can imagine myself the pride you must feel now, being able to show the worst 10% of this beach where day after day heaps of parents with their children (majority Thai but also more and more foreign) can have a good time, relax, build sand castles, float on inner tires and eat quite good food (beach food that is, not talking about haute cuisine here ... just to be clear about this before a pic is posted of some crab on a plastic plate) away from the polluted mainland. Of course there's nicer beaches than the one on Koh Sichang but the Op was being enthusiastic about the whole package, the whole island as a nice get- away
falang07
Koh Sichang has only one beach, and while it can be nice at low tide, it is often full of garbage on the shore and also floating in the water. It seems the many ships anchored around the island dump their trash directly into the water, and the same applies to the Thai inhabitants. Very dry and rocky island. Not much to do, OK for a one day trip.
