Nida Poll says people believe Ms Yingluck will return if she is allowed to leave the country

BANGKOK: -- Over 47 percent of respondents to the Nida Poll have suggested that the court should be the authority to decide whether to allow former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra to leave the country for abroad or not and 35.22 percent believe she will return within the schedule.

Baby elephant dies after being rescued from a pond

CHANTHABURI: -- A three-day old baby elephant which was helped out of a pond in Chanthaburi ‘s Ang Runai wildlife sanctuary by villagers and later on taken to KhaoKheo wildlife conservation zone in Chon Buri for proper care has died Saturday.

Man shot dead by Copenhagen police after gun attacks

COPENHAGEN (AFP) - Copenhagen police said early Sunday they had shot dead a man who opened fire on officers hours after two people were killed and five wounded in twin shootings in the Danish capital.

German tourist rescued after stranded 15 hours on Prachuap mountain

BANGKOK: -- Officials and foundation Sunday rescuers rescued a 25-year-old German tourist who was stranded on the Mong Lai Mountain in Prachuap Khirikhan's Muang district for 15 hours.

Officials managed to reach the tourist and led him down the mountaintop at noon. He walked up the mountain to watch sunset Saturday evening and fell into a gorge. Fortunately, a fisherman spotted him calling for help Sunday morning.
