Apparent suicide by hanging at Central Pattaya Construction Site

PATTAYA: -- Cambodian laborers returned to their campsite in Central Pattaya early on Sunday Morning after celebrating Valentine’s Night with friends, and found the body of a man who appeared to have hanged himself on the ground floor of the construction.

Police and medics arrived and inspected the body of the man whose name or nationality is unknown but he is not thought to be a Thai national. Inside the victim’s trouser pockets was a small amount of coins and some cigarettes.

How do they know he's not Thai?. This suggests he is either a farang/Arab/Indian etc.

If so, couldn't he have been killed and robbed then a 'fake' suicide by hanging set up?. I only mention this because I get irritated by the instant 'alleged suicide' headlines.

Why can't they simply say, at this stage, it's an unexplained or suspicious death?. At least that retains the options.
